UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN

ENGLISH EDUCATION

PROGRAM OVERVIEW Undergraduates finish the English Education program prepared to meet the demands of the teaching profession. As part of their course work, students have numerous opportunities to work with adolescents and their teachers in local schools, tutor individual at-risk students, teach small groups, and plan and present lessons to middle and high school classes prior to engaging in a semester-long student teaching internship. As they practice planning, delivering, and managing high quality instruction, students are guided to rich understanding of the many print and non-print literacies that define today’s communication.

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN ENGLISH EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS Our College also offers over $300,000 in scholarships — more than any other college of education in the state of Florida. To see what scholarships await you, visit coe.fsu.edu/FreeMoney

Teaching is one of the most rewarding careers, and a typical path usually offers opportunities for professional development and growth. Middle and high school English/ Language Arts teachers make a difference in the lifelong learning experience of their students, as well as the quality and standards of the programs they teach. They generally work school hours when students are present, and use nights and weekends to prepare lessons and grade papers.
