MUSE

The word muse means to consider something thoughtfully or reflect on deeply (something I feel we could all do more of in our work, to feel that passion soul-deep). The Muses in ancient Greek mythology were a group of nine goddesses, inspirational in the arts, science and literature. In modern times we now like to think of a muse as someone who drives us to create, be it musically, lyrically or artistically.

It must be wonderful to be someone's muse in the truest sense, to have driven someone to their very best works, to inspire a creative passion that survives fads and fashions, living on in a painting, a poem or a song.

For me, the natural world is my muse, I don't think I could ever cease to be inspired by the soft folds of a petal, or the green and white hedgerows in the spring, the ever-changing moody hues of a thundery sky.

I hope that this issue of the magazine might become your muse, if only for a short while. Take in the colours the shapes, the words. Imagine where your creativity will go to next.

Allow us to become your muse.

Who or what is your muse? What drives your creativity?
