The open text question (question 13) - “Explain more about any all of your responses above, and your thoughts on the importance of Copenhagen’s urban design to your health and wellbeing” - received 4 varied responses:

● “I never really thought about it all that much, but last summer I had a friend over from Toronto and he complimented the Danish/Copenhagen urban space a lot for being so pedestrian friendly. He said that it was clear that the government tried to promote more well-being by making open space areas where pedestrians can just sit and chill.

Compared to Toronto where the city doesn't afford chilling outside (lack of grass and benches etc. so that you would have to go to some kind of monetary establishment (cafe, bar, restaurant) and spend money in order to spend time alone or with friends.”

● “Convenience, price and safety in bicycle routes are especially important for encouraging bike use”

● “I don't find a lot of places in Copenhagen attractive, but maybe I just haven't found any of the hidden gems yet. I do feel like Copenhagen is mostly a transport by vehicle city, and I think that's a shame because I do think it has the potential to be a beautiful city with amazing open and green spaces but I just don't see those as it is right now”

● “In regards to everything that covers being more active, well being and so on, it all has to do with the weather for me. If I didn't have the open spaces in Copenhagen, I would just go somewhere else to be outside and active.”
