Graphic Design.
¥Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Katherine Bjelke (But everyone calls me Kate) Creativity has always been a fundamental part of my life, so I always knew that I wanted it to be the main element of my work. I consider myself a versatile graphic designer and illustrator, aware of the world surrounding us, and I have constantly been attracted to experiment and create in different areas and media. Understanding the needs of my clients, finding solutions, creative opportunities, and helping people find the most effective way to communicate visually is my priority. I am used to work with deadlines, plans and goals, in addition, I feel comfortable both in digital media and in print. I look forward to working on new projects where I can contribute, learn and continue to explore graphic design and communication. I hope you enjoy this portfolio and that it could be the beginning of a good relationship and a great job.

Project: The war through the imagination Bearing in mind the constant overload of images, videos or news of tragedies to which we are exposed and the immunization that this inevitably creates. The idea was not to compose and create images that are added to the collection of horrors, but to focus the creative project on the game with intimidating elements and to strip them of their natural danger, turn them into harmless games and use the imagination as an escape route, with the intention of creating a surreal and hopeful world with the elements of the drawing.

The bombings of schools and hospitals have affected the children population in particular. 1 out of every 5 children in the world lives in war zones, approximately 420 million children have become a war goal of armed conflict.
According to the latest statistics, there are 59.5 million refugees in the world, of which 27.5 million are children and according to UNICEF almost 24 million of these children, scattered throughout 22 countries of conflicts,
More than 14,000 people, of which 474 were minors, have died in the Mediterranean trying to reach Europe since 2014. 84% of those who leave their homes in search of protection, fleeing the war end on developing countries, only a minority try to flee to Europe.

Butterfly mines
Toxic
110 million antipersonnel mines are still active in 64 countries. The “butterfly mines, referred to in the illustration, are characterized by their color and their shape which makes many children try to pick them up thinking they are toys or butterflies. Even after the war, its presence on roads and especially in agricultural fields continues to be a constant threat and prevents the return to normality.
From Napalm to sarin gas, chemical weapons have played a very cruel role in the war, which does not discriminate between military and civilian populations, and where children are one of the most affected. One billion people in the world still do not have access to electricity and 674 million are expected to continue without it in 2030.
