Conquering the Mind of Self Doubt and Fear

Conquering the Mind of Self Doubt and Fear Conquering a mind that is full of self doubt and fear is the key to owning your future, so how do we not allow self doubt and fear in our minds to cripple us from achieving the dreams, ambitions the income level we want?

The key to this is found in three simple ingredients: 1) Being rational; 2) Staying focused; 3) Having honesty.

Blair Singer in his book, 'Little Voice Mastery' say's, "I'm willing to say to anybody that the only thing that stands between me and what I want is between my right ear and my left ear." In other words our mind plays a pivotal part in either our success or failure. How true is this? When I am having a bad day, so does my business, when I am having a great day I am more productive and generate more money.

So how does 'Being rational' become a key ingredient to conquering the mind? When my youngest son who is 3 is naughty, he is sent to have time out; he always gets in a mood about sitting on his own when the rest of us are having fun. When I go to talk with him about why he is in time out, he will turn away and be moody with me. After a few seconds I will catch his eye and he will slowly break into a smile. Once that happens he will talk with me about what happened and why he is in the situation he is in.

We do this as adults as well, rather than looking at things rationally and taking a step back to look outside of ourselves. W e cover up our mistakes, need time out, get stressed or get moody, we have all been there. The mind can make or break us, working on ourselves is key in enlarging what we can handle and what we can achieve, being rational about it and facing the issues and becoming a stronger person through that mastery will allow us to have a new focus and bounce in our step

The second ingredient is 'Staying focused'. Today we live in a multi media, fast paced, throw away world, gone are the days of washing up, we put the plates in the dishwasher or buy plastic plates for a grill to throw away. It is the same for

ourselves, we don't stay focused on what the vision is. We loose track of achieving the main thing and clog our time up with trivial things that are packaged well, smell nice but don't achieve what we want in life.

How many e-mails a week or even a day do you get form people saying they can increase your profitability or help things stay larger longer... We have lost the art of staying focused and not allowing the world to bombard us with the latest and greatest. Staying focused means we can stream line ourselves and not loose track of the reasons we started what we are doing in the first place. We need to keep the main thing the main thing

The last ingredient is 'Having honesty' with yourself. When I was growing up I wanted to play soccer professionally. I played for school teams, Saturday teams, adult teams, but I was never good enough to play semi pro let alone get paid big money for it.

Being honest with ourselves is one of the hardest things we have to do in life, when my marriage broke down and we divorced I blamed my ex, but I had to be honest with myself to learn from it and ask, 'what did I do wrong in the marriage?'

A great key to honesty is having mentors and good friends around you who you know will be truthful with you even if that means your feelings will be hurt at times. I constantly ask mentors and friends for advice; I want their opinion as they know me and will be honest with me. I love the question, "Does my bum look big in this?" that question always makes me laugh because it is either a yes or no?

There are ways we can be honest without crucifying someone. The worst critic of our work and of us is ourselves; be honest about things, but always ask for another opinion as no one can beat you up like you can beat yourself up.

We all have self doubt and fears, we are human after all, if though you really want to achieve the lifestyle and accomplish the vision you have, you have no choice but to conquer the mind. Being rational, staying focused and having honesty about things are the ingredients that you need to be successful in the way you want, rather than what other people think. This will not only improve your business, but relationships, outlook on life and will even help you achieve the so called impossible dream you have.
