How Cure to Cancer is Achieved It has been a concern of every person to get a cure to cancer but still remains a challenge to even doctors. Recently, a report was issued informing the public that cancer is treatable where doctors opted to have come up with a mechanism of wiping it completely. The report is according to Dr Kevin Harrington from the Institute of Cancer Research in London where he introduced viral treatments using Reovirus and later the results turned out to be promising. Other diseases which have brought mental trauma to doctors include childhood obesity.
Many people may want to know more about this thing called Reovirus. This falls in the same category of rotavirus where the virus is usually has power to relieve mild colds and any stomach upset. It has also the power to shrink tumors which occur internally where during the initial stages it used to be injected into the tumor itself. Nowadays things have changed in the sense that Reovirus is injected directly into the bloodstream. Through this, many diseases can be cured including cancer since blood is the major carrier or pass-way for many diseases. Initial Trial of the Reovirus During this time, a group of 10 patients were treated who had bowel cancer tumors and it had spread to the liver. They started by taking 5 doses of Reovirus for a period of few weeks and this
was prior to surgery. Results showed that there was active virus which associated with the blood cells. After surgery by Dr Julie Sharp, she revealed a deposit of viral but this time it did occur in the liver tissue. The outcome gotten here showed some possibilities of having a cure to cancer and later recommendations were made that patients be given Reovirus using a simple injection. Another person who tried the effectiveness of Reovirus was Dr Harrington who together with other scientists initially feared that antibodies would wipe out the viral particles. If this was to be possible, then the Reovirus was to be prevented from reaching their target. According to the results by Dr Harrington, the viruses first evaded the immune system using the stream of red blood cells where the Reovirus finally targeted the cancer cells. The virus did not tamper with the normal cells where it served two functions one of killing the tumor cells and causing an anticancer immune response as well. Owing to this fact, there are minimal chances of the patients contracting side effects through use of the Reovirus. Now talking of childhood obesity, this has also been a challenge as pointed out earlier to many doctors. Small children suffering from obesity are more likely to lack enough sleep in conjunction to other discomforts. Childhood obesity is mainly caused by diet where mothers do not check on what kind of food they are giving their babies. This is should be done in correct proportions and designated food supplement. Some of the areas affected include the brain where the child cannot reason properly when suffering from this kind of obesity.
