Megan D'Ambrosio

What’s in a Name: My name is Megan Louise D’Ambrosio. To me, this name doesn’t have much meaning to me. I don’t like it, and I don’t think it describes who I am and who I look like. When I think of a Megan I think of a blonde or red head, and pale skin. My mother likes it but, she also wanted to give me a name that was more Italian. My biological father said no. My mom told me she had picked out the name Alexandria. I love that name, it’s long and very Italian and when I think of that name I think tan skin and dark hair!! I got my middle name from my Great Grandmother, and also my Grandmother who’s middle name is Louise. I didn’t know the history of the name, so I wanted a more normal middle name, when I was growing up in elementary school everyone had a middle name like Lynn, Jane, and Marie so I changed it to Megan Lynn D’Ambrosio. My family wasn’t happy with it and that’s when they told me the history behind it. It had more meaning to me once they explained; I just didn’t want to get made fun of for having such a “unique” name. So now, my friends know me as Megan Lynn, I regret every having to be afraid of getting made fun of for it but, I can’t do much now. I would love to change my name to Alexandria Louise D’Ambrosio!
