Often parish budgets are able to support this type of professional development. Participants outside of this diocesan partnership are asked to pay $600. Scholarships are available based on need.

While attending the Institute, you will have the opportunity to experience the contemplative prayer of the Benedictine monks while staying in comfortable, air-conditioned rooms.

Parish Catechetical Leadership Institute SUMMONED FOR SERVICE, EMPOWERED FOR EXCE LLENCE! In an atmosphere of prayer, community, and study, you can explore faith development, leadership skills, basic Catholic theology, models of the church, and catechetical methods.

A Unique Collaboration The Office for Catechesis of the Catholic Diocese of Evansville and the Office of Faith Formation of the Catholic Diocese of Owensboro along with Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology’s Office of Lay Degree Programs have collaborated to form you for service in the catechetical ministry and for the life of the Church. Institute courses will be facilitated by members of Saint Meinrad’s faculty in partnership with diocesan leaders and specialists in pastoral ministry. From this unique collaboration, you will be confidently empowered for excellence in your ministry and service to the Church!

This Institute builds on the foundations of catechetical leadership and offers you a "bridge" between theory and its practical applications. Aligned with National Standards The content of the Catechetical Leadership Institute is aligned with the National Certification Standards for Catechetical Leaders. These standards designate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes which are deemed desirable or necessary for effective functioning in the catechetical ministry.
