Georgia Wright
As a young, aspiring writer who dreams for the moon, Georgia Wright has certainly already begun to rattle the stars. A published author, journalist, digital editor, copy writer, and proof-reader at age 19, this girl doesn’t muck around.
Perhaps it was her childhood love of books that lit the fire in her belly to produce stories of her own. Perhaps it was the fact that 7-year-old Georgia was promised by all her teachers that her talent for writing would make her famous someday. Admittedly, it was both. Either way, by the time she had reached Year 11 at Wavell State High School, all the students knew her name, and everyone knew she had put a book on the library’s shelves.
‘Love Hurts’, Georgia’s debut novel—a witty and romantic coming-of-age tale—was co-published by the author herself and InHouse Publishing in 2020, right in the thick of COVID-19. It became quite the local hit within the community!
For work experience in Year 10, Georgia chose to jump aboard The Echo News ship for the week. The team liked her enough to keep her around, and ever since, her role at the Echo has only grown. From producing journalistic work for the company, to then also proofreading the publications, to securing the position as Digital Editor for The Little Echo, Georgia’s contribution is never-ending. Currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Creative Writing and a Minor in Journalism at Queensland University of Technology, Georgia is working hard in all departments to set up her future. Just this month, she secured an internship at the 4ZZZ radio station, where she now produces news stories to present on the radio each Thursday (tune in if you dare!). This way, she can gain a wider range of real-world journalism experience before graduating next year.
What’s more, Georgia offers freelance journalism services to businesses and individuals. She hopes to turn these services into her own business one day, with novel writing to be her side hustle. Until then, she will continue climbing up in the world from publication to publication. Star to star.

Danni Francis
General Manager - Aspley Hornets Football Club
Hi, I’m Danni the General Manager of the Aspley Hornets Football Club, located in the heart of Carseldine and the biggest Aussie Rules Club on the Northside of Brisbane. This non-profit organisation consists of three bars, an expansive and welcoming gaming room, a large dog friendly deck, three function rooms, 6 Points Café, and finally a 160 seated Bistro area. Every dollar spent in the club goes back to the community or our Aussie Rules players that range from three years old to the over 55’s. I hold a Business Degree with a Major in Marketing and started my career at a small club. I instantly fell in love with the role and hospitality. Just over eight years ago, I found my way to the Hornets and have never looked back. I have worked in various roles including gaming, marketing, operations, and for the last four years, General Manager. Our team at the Hornets is strong and diverse, with a notable presence of female leaders, allowing us to run the club with compassion, empathy, and a supportive environment for our team and members, akin to a family.
As a mother of two, I cherish my Hornet’s family and my passion lies in growing the team and providing a venue that is associated with words like family, friendly, safe, and welcoming for our members.
One of my proudest achievements is our team. Their loyalty and dedication is truly remarkable, and it's heartening to see our club being considered as a second home by members, reflected in the kind feedback we receive.
I am also incredibly proud of our club's achievements, including winning the Best Gaming Award and being a runner-up in the Best Club Medium and Best Footy Club categories. We are committed to continuous growth, both on and off the field, as we strive to be a significant supporter of Aussie rules in the region and provide a hub that fosters a sense of community within our club.
