Yoga is a centuries old practice that incorporates together the mind, body and soul. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Chakras references a spiritual energy center within the human body. There are seven chakras. When the chakras are open and aligned, our energy is constantly freeflowing, allowing prana to flow through them. Blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to illness.
