Peru they have a lot of Earthquakes. This is because Lima is on the edge of a Plate Tectonic. In the area of Lima, Earthquakes have unfortunately been a common occurrence for thousands of years. Because of this, people have to be prepared when an earthquake hits. Earthquakes are very complex because no two earthquakes are the same depending on your location earthquakes can be deep, intermediate, or shallow. Most earthquakes you don’t even realize what’s happening you just feel like your shaking.
Disaster Preparedness: Earthquakes are one of the most powerful events that happens on the Earth.Yet in lima they get hundreds of them a year! People that live in lima have to always be prepared for when an earthquake may hit. After the Indin Ocean Tsunami the Asia-Pacific Econimic Cooperation (APEC) established a Preparedness for natural disasters.
Economy of Lima: The economy in Lima is not the best. But thanks to the foreign investment and the cooperation between the government inflation was brought under control. El Niño’s impact on agriculture, instability in Brazilian markets undergrowth, and the financial crisis in Asia took place in 1998. The next year was bad again for Peru. Political instability resulting from the presidential election and the president’s subsequent departure from the office growth in 2000. Economic growth in 2002 is estimated at 4.8%, led by construction in the retail and gas sectors.
Daily Life: The people in Lima, Peru are always ready for an earthquake to strike. But on an everyday routine they would eat lunch around two or three in the afternoon. They eat dinner between eight and eleven at night. They eat a lot of rice and fish. In Cuzco they eat cuy (fried guinea pig) but that is not common in lima. In rural areas people sometimes go to bed around eight. This is because most people work six days a week and sometimes 12 hours a day. That would be the typical everyday life style in Lima, Peru.
History about Lima: The first citizen of Peru was huntergatherers who lived in caves in Peru’s coastal regions. Chavín inexplicably disappeared around 300 BC, but over many centuries several other cultures such as the Salinar, the Nazca, the Paracas, the Necropolis, the and the Wari (Huari) became important. By the early 15th century, the Inca empire took control of most of the area. Even some of Colombia and Chile. Skipping some time, in 1866, Peru won a brief war with Spain but was humiliated by Chile in the war of the pacific. Peru also went to war with Ecuador over a border dispute in 1941. A treaty is in the works that should finally bring these wars to a dispute.
