CONCEPTUAL ANONYMITY Conceptual Anonymity focuses on the idea of society wanting to take a step back from today’s over exposed culture, but not knowing how. Everyone is always talking about how they are tired of their whole life being on display to the world, but yet as time goes on we only try harder to make the world pause and notice us. It focuses on unrecognizable shapes and silhouettes, cut outs, blurred gender lines, and multiple personalitys in an attempt to bundle up and hide from the world. However, all of these trends will only make you stand out the world more than you were before. The only true way to fade away is to blend in, and Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 is about anything but being overlooked.

CONFUSION IN DISTORTION Confusion in Distortion embraces distorting the norm in order to be unrecognizable. Here you will discover enlarged and strange silhouettes, blurred patterns, and geometric shapes. If you don’t own a 3D printer now is the time to invest and get swept into distortion. The colors for this trend are grays, white, blacks, and blues. Are you ready to step into our dark distorted wonderland?

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLAS S Through the Looking Glass will take you on a journey of hiding from the world while still peeking out to observe humanity. It is filled with laser cuts, translucent material, facial coverings, and ever watchful eyes. You’ll notice pale icy blues mixed in with grays and a pop of red. Get ready to tailor your own peephole into our chaotic universe.

ANDROGYNALITY Androgynality breaks down society’s gender norms that have been instilled in us since birth. We will be seeing less makeup, shorter hair on women, a-line bodys, modern and crisp furnsishings, and plenty of cold stone. Men will look like women and women like men. Emerging designers such as Wesley Berryman are bringing unisex to the frontlines of today’s politically correct microcosm. It is a trend filled with dark neautrals, with hints of blush and beige. Angrogynality will leave you glassy eyed and thrown off balance.

COCOON IMMERSION Cocoon Immersion speaks to those of us who wish to be surrounded by a forcefield. It is time that we protect ourselves from our over exposed universe. But, much like a butterfly, your cocoon won’t go unseen. Cocoon Immersion is filled with all over prints, layers layered with layers, rooms within rooms, chokers, and plenty of knits. Installation art is a large focus in this trend as artists are wanting to express their need to withdraw into a personal oasis. It is a trend filled with browns, golds, and turquoises. Neutrals are still prevalent but not as focused upon. Come and secrete into your own preserved cocoon.

D U A L I T Y Duality dives into opposition and contradictions. It focuses on having multiple personas in order to stay mysterious to those around you. It is seen in contrasting prints and colors, objects with multiple functions, and the unexpected. It is filled with warm colors mixed in with blacks and whites. At the turn of your head what you thought you saw will now appear to you as a new being.
