President’s Message Hey Monsters! My name is Andrea Lee and I’m your president for the 2019-2020 term. This year I hope that, together, Franklin Key Club can achieve the Diamond Distinguished recognition. I also hope that our club can volunteer 5,000 hours for the term and to raise $1,000 for PTP. Another thing I hope to achieve is to raise our club funds and with the help of our treasurer, Katrina Do, have a fundraiser every two months. Why does this matter? It helps to lower the costs for events like Fall Rally North at Six Flags and District Convention! I hope that we can all come together as one Ohana this term and reach our goals!

Isaiah Ou | Secretary: “Officer Training Conference

(OTC) was an amazing experience! The theme for this year was heroes, so the acronym for the event was HER-OTC! I encourage all future and existing members to attend this event next year because OTC is always a great opportunity to learn more about Key Club. It can help members become more involved, and it can potentially serve as a Key Clubber’s Key Club moment: the moment where a Key Clubber finally finds his/her true passion for Key Club. For me, this year’s OTC was particularly special because with this being my second year attending an OTC, I was given the privilege of being a presenter. For the first time, I was not only learning more about Key Club, but also sharing my own personal experiences with serving Key Club. Additionally, since this was a joint event with our sister division (Division 7 North), I was able to reconnect with some old friends that I knew back in Sacramento before I moved to Elk Grove. Overall, Key Club HER-OTC was a memorable experience, and I hope that Key Clubbers will continue to participate in this important annual event!”

“At the CSD Wacky Mother-Son Event, I helped set up different golf courses. Volunteers were given a tour around the area, while people arrived to decorate their golf carts for the ‘wacky’ theme. My personal favorites were one that was Pokemon inspired and another that had a Captain America shield on the front. Each volunteer was assigned a different golf hole to supervise and it was hilarious to see the mothers and their sons try to golf via unconventional methods using tennis rackets, frisbees, hockey sticks, and etc. I enjoyed helping out with this event and it was a good experience working with the coordinators and volunteers to make it possible.”
