ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR High-End Retail Boston, Massachusetts Gensler Lifestyle | Summer 2018 THE WYNN COLLECTION

The Wynn Collection, at the Boston harbor, is a 5-star destination that offers all of the latest fashion from high-end brands. Clothing, accessories , and jewelry are from well-known designers such as Zimmermann, Victoria Beckham, Bally, Jimmy Choo, etc. As stated, their collection encompasses luxury, glamour, and convenience for any occasion. During my career at Gensler Las Vegas, I heavily focused on interiors for hospitality projects, specifically Encore. My responsibilities were layout design, designing and modeling product displays using Revit, rendering finished floor plans using Photoshop, selecting and customizing materials and finishes, and coordinating with sales representatives. The design intent was to implement the glamor and luxury, within the retail space, that Wynn encompasses. Gensler was responsible for the overall design and model of the retail space, but coordinated with another firm on final renderings.

NEXT Real Estate and Management Firm Denver, Colorado Steelcase Sponsored Competition Fall 2018 | 5 Weeks STATEMENT Incorporating the culture and innovative elements of Downtown Denver’s newly utilized public spaces, alleys, within the workplace.

CONCEPT

Downtown Denver’s vibrant culture is captured within the expanding trendy, industrial neighborhoods of the city. The heart of Denver, Market Street, is known to be “where the art is made,” captivating city dwellers and showcasing a unique sense of community. Since (Year), Denver has had a goal of refreshing their underutilized spaces, known as the alleys into unique public spaces. Commuters frequently walk through these alleys to get to their respective destinations (whether that be work, restaurant, or simply out on a casual stroll). Recognizing the increased use of these passages, the city has worked toward transforming these alleyways into more pedestrian-friendly areas, infusing amenities and art installations for the community to enjoy. Inspired by these newly-developed, active alleys of Downtown Denver, employees of NEXT will experience an urban environment filled with “unexpected surprises” of various amenities to keep them engaged within the workplace. They alleys serve as the main path of circulation each leading to a different and unique destination within the space.

MONARCH’S MIGRATION A Memorial for Civic Action Fall 2017 | 3 Weeks RECOGNITION IDEC (Interior Design Educators Council) Student Design Competition 2018 Studio Finalist CONCEPT Monarch’s Migration is a memorial space for civic action designed for reflection and celebration of immigration, equality, and diversity. The memorial serves as a dynamic, spiritual space where visitors can express and reflect in a transcendent setting. The memorial’s design illustrates the sense of meaning and purpose of the world. The natural forms, patterns, and migration of a Monarch butterfly, which is a commonly understood as a representation of new life and beginnings, served as the main conceptual inspiration. The symbolism discovers how daylight migrates throughout the day. Transformation of light is highlighted through the feature element - perforated wall with the forms of the Monarch butterfly - symbolizing the journey immigrants take when migrating to find new life.

SIT & SPIN’S THE SOLAR CYCLE A Laundromat Cafe with Circadian Lighting Spring 2018 | 4 Weeks RECOGNITION

Robert Bruce Thompson Annual Student Light Fixture Competition Second Place National Winner | 2018

CONCEPT

The Solar Cycle is a circadian light fixture that is inspired by the energy used to transition from day to night. Lighting in a laundromat cafe is an feature where design and efficiency can bring value to customers, specifically energizing the space to keep customers focused when performing tasks such as doing their laundry. Different phases of natural daylight will affect how the solar LED lights interact within the interior of the laundromat cafe. The Solar Cycle is a color-tunable, human centric luminaire with a color spectrum where light changes its intensity depending on the time of day. It completes and mimics the natural cycle of an entire course of the day. It also contains less blue wavelength at night time to not disrupt the circadian rhythms.

32

33

THE FIXTURE

The Solar Cycle is installed directly on top of the work station, providing functional lighting for customers to easily detect stains, matching colors, and wrinkles before and after washing their clothes.

The fixture is connected to a rotator engine that is operated through a programmable smart system, which controls the efficiency and color of lighting. The middle screw channel is attached to a rotator to allow it to move throughout the day. The pace of the rotator depends on the intensity of daylight, which powers the Solar Cycle.

MARKER RENDERING Graphic Communication Professional Elective | Fall 2017 CONTEXT Learning techniques on how to form line weights, marker styles, and layering. The practice is knowing how to render different tone and color combinations and how the marker strokes can create simple planes, forms, and spaces. Throughout the duration of a semester-long course, there are select sketches and marker renderings based on discovering color and rendering techniques that could be applied through interior design. Some examples include rendering altered states, material simulations, and interior perspectives.
