No lowercase formation for this font. Not sure on the & or @ symbols otherwise it seems like a font that could be used on posters as a main title font but not for the text body.

American Typewriter The 7 seems a little too ornate or decorative compared to the rest of the font, it would be a nice font if you were trying to recreate the look of a diary or old fashioned letter but the numbers are a little different as they do have quite a bit of height in comparison to the letters.

Amethyst I love the design of this font but it is quite specific to the purpose, it would only fit with a selection of designs. Once again there is no deisgn for lower case lettering and due to the design anyway, this would mainly suit titles instead of the body of any kind of text.

Although this is a Serif font, it is almost too formualic still. It has the appearance of a computer generated font which could work with some designs without being a pixelated font that produces too much visual noise.

Apple Chancery

Mimiking some old style handwriting in terms of the embellishments on the letters however, there is the script approach of joining letters here. It is a nice font but I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t know what kind of purpose it would be appropriate for, I struggle to find anything interesting enough to make it a focal point on a poster.

Apple Symbols

Again this is a very predictable font. It is one that we see a lot, especially with apple products. I think the Serif nature of this font makes it work well as a font that is quick and easy to read.

Another one of the very typical fonts. I see why it is used, there are some nice embellishments, especially on the Q and it is very clearly legible.

Beer This was a font that I was recommended looked like Bebas Neue instead of continuously looking the same in my designs. When next to each other in their full form I am now understanding why they are similar but also where the differences lie. Birch Std This font has some really intriguing aspects to it, although I wish there were more options as a similar version, but perhaps a little bit more weighted could also come in useful as a font selection.

There are some really nice combinations with these fonts, I particularly like the first 3 combinations shown, with the ornament fonts, as with many of the others, I struggle to see how this is easy to read. We have nothing to compare it to as an audience in order to translate it.

This font has a few extra options that can be used, the SemiBold option is definitely one that is helpful on a type like this as it doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t become too bold but it does have a little more impact for titles.

This is a little similar to the American Typewriter it just hasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t got as much of the curvature which gives each letter a wider width.

CrEAtoR cAmpoTYPe There is no way to differentiate between capitals and lower case apart from the way in which some of them have more embellishments than others. As a reader you wouldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t know the difference which doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t make too much difference but I think the numbering on this font could be a really strong set to use within some designs.

Quite plain and boring this font, however, it always serves a purpose for something and it again a good neutral font without it being Arial. It has been used on a social media platform though so it also has this slight digitalised appearance.

As long as you are looking to only work with capitals, I guess this font would work well. It has some effective height to the lettering and if need be, you could create lowercase versions of these lettering by changing the heights of individual letters in the program you are using but for a large quantity of text this will be a lot of work.

Impact

I wish this font wasn’t as dense! Also the @ sign doesn’t have the same thickness so probably not the best font to use if this is a symbol that will be used within the text.

Lithos PRo

This is another font that looks a little like Egyptian hieroglyphics however, this time the styling on the lettering isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t as elaborate and it doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have such a sweeping motion on these letters. I think this makes the second half of the alphabet seem a little boring whereas the first half, probably up until M, seem more Egyptian in appearance.

Long Shot The difficulty with this font is the fact that there isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t the basci punctuation, a comma or full stop, there even isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t a 0. Although I like the font and think it could be appropriate for certain gig posters, I am not sure that these would be possible without such basic symbols.

Luminari

Slightly gothic in nature with some old style fonts, this particular typeface will be a fun one to experiment with. The capitals will make effective accent letters that can be enlarged at the start of a paragraph whereas many of the other fonts would have had to use a different font as an accent as the capitals and lower case donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t work so well together.

In order to appreciate this font and all the embellishments that it has, the font needs to be displayed in a larger size than some people would perhaps want on a design. It could be a title font but not a body font as this would have to be too small.

The text I use for most of my body text, sometimes I think I need to change it away from the default setting of InDesign however, it works well and is clearly legible.

This font doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t feature any letters however, when looking for some generic symbols to put in a font that maybe doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have any of its own, this could be a really easy way of filling the gaps. However, most fonts that have a similar appearance, already have designed these symbols within its own typeface.

My eyes hurt! Although this font is really interesting and could work with certain styles of work, especially glitched, the font does take a little bit of getting used to and can hurt your eyes a little. The fact there is no lower case lettering either makes it quite hard to distinguish the difference when trying to read an already complex font.

One Slice

Unlike other strong fonts like this, this one has some sharp embellishments that add a bit of interest to the font, this could have looked interesting with lower case letters but unfortunately, these werenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t designed as part of the font.

Although I like this font, once again you can only work in capital letters, it is frustrating however, the font has some real potentional with certain style posters. It is one that I will look at using however, once again, like many other fonts, I am not going to be able to use it for the body text.

Parametric Glitch

As a glitch font, this works better than the ‘Nervous’ font, it is easier to read however, I don’t think that it is particularly interesting. It isn’t particularly glitchy.

Pieces of Eight For once the symbols really add to this font, the pirate themed nature of the text is increased through the symbols when swords and hooks begin to feature. This connection obviously doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have to feature if the user doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t want to use the symbols at which point the text is opened up to more possible interpretations instead of just looking like it is pirate themed.

This is a nice ornate font however, it does have the association to a circus as it was a font that was a traditional font that they would use. Although it can be repurposed this connection will have to be considered within its new purpose.

I think I prefer the lower case lettering for this example than the upercase, some letters are a little confusing and can easily get mixed up.

I’be discussed my dislike for this font before. In some cases it would really work however, in large quantities this font wouldn’t work.

Strong Void This is an even harder font to work with, it does have more curvature to it however, the basic symbols are once again missing.

This is a strong font that has a lot of impact, which is why, in order to fit in with the style the choice was made to not offer any lower case lettering with the font. This works for the impact htat is trying to be created with the font and it can typically be used within harsh, impact events, I want to say army days or mud runs and thingss like that. Although it is stereotypical to use it for this, the army donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t use it, so what builds this connection?

Sukhumvit Set

I don’t know why but the disconnected nature of the k here particularly interests me and I think it ties the whole font together. One issue though, the k won’t always feature.

The ornate nature of the embellishments here is something a little different to the others that I have looked at. Arialic Hollow

The benefit of this font, is that the font, before being made hollow, isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t as harsh as the GoBold hollow version. The Gobold version was one that I enjoyed working with but it was a little too harsh so I felt the need to find one that although has transitioned from a Serif to a San Serif, it appears to be a lot softer which will work with multiple designs.

Baltimore Typewriter As another outline font, this works quite well however to make it a little different, this one has a very light drop shadow in order to make each letter stand out each more however, it doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t make me think of a typewriter because of the drop shadow.

I think this is another font that I really like, it is slightly more abstract that some of the fonts whilst still having the structure that some fonts require. It also doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t become too abstract in terms of a pixelated font.

Pink T-Shirt The slight inperfection of this font is what attracted me to the possibilities of using it. The font has a strong base, strong family and there is a height difference between the capitals and lower case letters which I like.
