Reflections Strengths: • Successfully created a cube, transformed it into a component and replicated it multiple times to create this complex array. • Zoomed into the array, turned my shadows on and placed several human figures for scale to create a dramatic shot. Challenges: • I need to learn how to use rapid visualization techniques to hand draw something similar to what I produced in SketchUp.

Reflections Strengths: • • • • •

Created one single stair. Copied that single stair and made 19 more to create a stair case. Learned how to use the rotate and rotate copy functions. Created intricate stair structures. Used rotate and copy function to make fun stair case ideas.

Challenges: •

The rotate copy function proved to be more difficult than I expected. I will need to practice that function more often. Stairs Front Top

Reflections Strengths: • Grouping function. • Learned how to group together two + objects and have them become one. Challenges: • It took a couple tries to get the objects to stay together and move as one. • Practicing this tool will come in handy through the class. Stairs Front View

Rapid Visualization Rapid Vis: Strengths: • We learned how to draw a circle using a square. • With a circle you can draw anything: a cone, fire hydrant, wheels, cheese, a dog, a rocket ship almost anything. Challenges: • It was hard at first to see the objects before I drew them, but once getting some practice it got a little easier. • Practice makes perfect.

Reflections Strengths: • Arrays, Multiples, Animation, Scenes, Groups. • Combining known skills and adding in several others to create an animation of different floor plans. • Creating one house, then copying to create several; each with a different floor plan. Challenges: • Getting the groupings to work together was difficult. If it wasn’t done properly then painting the floor wouldn’t work. • I had to go back in and start over to get the grouping right. • Animation was fairly simple, but getting the slides in order was tricky.

Floor Plans

Rapid Visualization

Reflections Strengths: • Drawing floor plans that come to mind. • Being imaginative with different designs. • Creating a matrix of possibilities. Challenges: • Being able to come up with new designs quickly. • Making lines straight without a ruler. • Creativity with floor plans.

Dog House 1 Reflections: Strengths: • Happy with finished result. • It got easier the more time I spent on it. • Learned many tools; rectangle, circle, how to make a window, copy, paint, push-pull and several others. • Being creative with the design. Challenges: • Learning the tools one at a time. • Spending time on each aspect of the house. • Practicing until I got the hang of each tool. • Changing and editing the design constantly.

Piazza del Campidoglio Reflections: Strengths: • Learned a lot of new tools. • Created something very interesting. • Practiced each new tool. Challenges: • Deleting all the small lines inbetween bigger lines. • Creating the tear drop shapes so that it didn’t get stuck to the circle. • Doing Offset on all the triangles; then deleting the smaller lines.
