KATIE WEINHOLD
THE
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WORK OF
SKETCHUP
In addition to contributing to working and construction documents, I was primariliy responsible for the 3D modeling for my previous architecture firms.
MORGAN BABCOCK RESIDENCE CARLTON ARCHITECTURE, 2007
An impressively steep site calls for a design that is respectful and responsive to the cost and complexities of building on such a site. The narrow footprint of the house is wrapped around the topography to reduce excavation and maximize panoramic views to the mountains beyond. The simple forms and local materials are a modern interpretation of the farming structures common to the region.

The Auto Advantage showroom is not merely a building, but an extension of a well known and respected brand. By transforming the nondescript box, the building becomes both a billboard at the scale of the highway and a friendly salesperson at the scale of the individual. More than just a face lift, the changes represent a new idea in how the showroom can contribute to a pleasant car buying experience.
CHES TE R FI E L D MI L L MCDONOUGH ARCHITECT, 2008
A mixed-use urban infill development on a 2.2 acre site in a historic neighborhood and River Arts District. The master plan was developed through a charette process led by international planning firm Correa & Associates. Phase I design work includes form and massing explorations of the smaller buildings along one property edge facing a residential neighborhood.

HONEYSUCKLE CABIN MCDONOUGH ARCHITECT, 2008
For this small residential project, my primary responsibilities were the production of the construction document set using Autocad.
MORGAN BABCOCK RESIDENCE CARLTON ARCHITECTURE, 2007
I created this design development set from hand-drawn sketches from the project architect (note: as this project was early in the design process, this set is not as detailed as the previous construction document sets).
PRESENTATION
GRAPHICS
While working for Carlton Architecture, I was given the responsibility for creating a standard graphic site analysis presentation to be used for each new project. The following presentation boards were created using adobe photoshop and illustrator. The presentation includes: a. a local scale topographical map illustrating site vicinity to surrounding towns and landmarks, major views, and sun path b. a slope percentage board with plan and section diagrams c. a site plan explaining sun path, prevailing winds, and panoramic views d. a view diagram that coordinates with the site plan to allow the client to visualize the panoramic views from the site and locate major mountain peaks
