Time

"I am a part of all that I have met," Lord Alfred Tennyson, Ulysses Collage 2008 This line from Tennyson's poem embodies the idea of time, a concept nested in moments we experience as a collected whole. Every moment is experienced as a compilation of past experiences. We affect every person we come in contact with and vice versa. Our hearts are shaped by the lives of others.

Form

Exploration through Photography, Metalwork, and Sculpture 2010 Organic shapes of grapes on a vine inspired form of soldered rings. Those contours are expressed through vellum woven together with fish wire, presented on a linear plane and hung in the air, allowing for translucency and form. Katherine Chan

Exploration of Movement and Shape 2011

The contours resulting from pulling the elastic blue putty embodies movement. To explore the concept of contours and shapes representing movement, the contours were discretized with geometric parallelograms. This translated to dance and the human form, as moving the body is to truly experience and feel the shape.
