My logo was made of 2 alphabets from Danube font family. K stands for Katona, B stands for Barbara. I arranged the letters in a way that creates an aesthetically pleasing shape.
I choose two colors for this identity, bright red and deep blue. My reason for this is that they complement each other perfectly and it gives us a strong, striking look. As soon as you see it, it immediately grabs your gaze and you want to see even more of it.

ChocoGraph is a chocolate series that contains the history of graphic design from the 1900s, Bauhaus. The brand can be useful for those who prefer learning the history of graphic design in a more playful way. All the pieces are in square format and has two or more collectible cards. One card shows the 2-coloured illustration, and the other one is
the replica of the original artwork. In the back you can see a brief description of the era and the styles. We can see a timeline of graphic design if we put these chocolates together. In the sides you can see the era’s name, the artist name, and the date. Design universities can also distribute these chocolates for the upcoming students to learn something useful.

Based on my experience a lot of designer student don’t want to learn these dry historical texts. That’s why I did a sweet chocolate packaging for it. You can eat a piece of white or dark chocolate while you are reading some information.
There are 10 packages in total and 1 premium package that can be a gift for your best friend. The premium one contains all of the 10 pieces, so it’s a perfect gift for a birthday or even for Christmas.
The package is made of creative paper. As for the premium package, I used black paper with white ink printing. The little packages are digital printing, and made of lighter paper so you can easily fold it.

Zinező is a biannual design-periodical published by the Department of Media and Design at Eszterházy Károly University, as a highlighted project of the Graphic Design Master’s Course. In terms of design, I made my own typography for the newspaper, which I used as titles and graphic elements. Like many other graphic works, the dominant colors are red and blue which gives a vibrant feeling.

Type Road is a project and an art publication that deals with the compatibility of Latin and traditional Chinese typography. The different culture’s writing systems are completely different but the structure of the communication is the same.

Type Road is a project and an art publication that deals with the compatibility of Latin and traditional Chinese typography. The different culture’s writing systems are completely different but the structure of the communication is the same. My research on this topic can be tracked back to the year of 2019, when I had the opportunity to travel to the island of Taiwan and learn more about taiwanese culture. During my journey, a lot of questions swirled in my head such as verbal and visual communication’s connection. This subject started to engage me as I walked on the streets of the amazing Taipei and I became aware of the myriad of advertisements, neon signage, and information on the posters that could be found in every corner of the city. What is interesting and thought-provoking about this? I came from a totally different culture so I didn’t understand anything from these captions because the lack of language.
This was the exact point when I started to think: What is visual communication? What are the boundaries of visual and verbal communication? All the letters, characters, punctuations belong under the topic of visual communication. It doesn’t really matter if I see these visual signs ont he streets because I’m unable to decode these codes. Chinese characters as pictograms are easily understandable when they are displayed visually. Is it possible to blur these boundaries between Latin and Chinese writing so that writing can be understood without the knowledge of the language? Where is the boundary between visual and descriptive display? The title „Type Road” comes from the name „Silk Road” that was and is a network of trade routes connecting the East and West. This time the connection is between typography and writing, therefore I changed the word silk to type.

NEW BLOOD In this project I reflect on how old or forgotten tools can be renewed when we update them. I made an experimental publication using an OKI 321 Microline Plus Elite dot matrix printer. These printers were used mostly in the 70s-80s, and it was cost-effective so people valued them up to the 90s. How does it work? Dot matrix printers create characters on paper by striking an inked ribbon with a hard surface. Typically, the print head contains 9 or 24 superimposed needles. The higher the number of needles, the better the print quality. I’ve tried a lot of things with this, for example I removed the inked ribbon and used a golden paper. The needles left marks on the surface, so that’s why a convex print was created. What is also interesting that dot matrix printers are noisier than inkjet or laser ones. The project has a publication entitled FLUSH. This is an experimental publication that consists of prints created during the experiment. I used various materials to stretch the boundaries of the printer. Even without ink, a print is created, as the needles leave a mark on the surface. I emphasize that things that have been used for a long time and are well-known also leave a mark in some form.

Tajvanon hagyott nyomaim I left my footprints in Taiwan I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to go to Taiwan as an exchange student for one semester, back in 2019. I did a lot of videos, photos and I was absolutely meshmerized by the country. When I went there at first I felt pressure because of the language barrier. I couldn’t understand anything but as the time passed by, I slowly started to accept the feeling. After all these messy feelings, I thought I brought my culture into another culture.
I am a hungarian with a hungarian background, experiences, friends, family but for a short time I was in Taiwan and everything happened with me quite fast and mysterious. I made new friends there, and I slowly started to understand this culture. It somehow became my second home since I went with the flow. I went to the Night Markets, I ate taiwanese food, started to learn some chinese.

I decided to use my taken photos in Taiwan and make a book about it. I choose 5 photos and I placed 5 figures in each photo to make illustrations. I choose red color to make this book because Taiwan’s main color is also red. I wanted to express that even though we came from different cultural backgrounds, we are still the same. I used a lot of traditional hungarian signs, embroidery and brands (DRK, Tisza cipő, Matyó, Kalocsai) and put them into a taiwanese environment like a mixture.
The illustrations are detailed but if you pay attention, you can easily find the signs. After making the illustrations, I decided to put them up into a traditional Chinese style accordion book shape. I bought a book in Taiwan and it was a similar style, it told a story about Buddha. That contained just a little amount of calligraphy and the main focus was on the illustrations. These illustrations functioned like a story, and mine is also based on my story in Taiwan. I bought some supplies for making the book and I bound it by myself.
