Adding further inspiration to my model from the Hudson Valley residence

Sketch up model

After reflecting on my sketch up mode, I felt the base of the building was too basic and did not replicate my research. Therefore I focused on the shapes and over hang of the building which I could add to my building. I did quick sketches to present my new idea.

After considering my sketch ideas, I wanted to focus on the new base. I have clearly shown its new shape in the drawings to the left. I have added more space by reorganising this base, and therefore can tuck the stairs into one of the new areas to allow for more space in the centre of the building. I then added a similar design to my last building above the base. I added a raise towards the end, and I have also added a canopy over the end to represent the Hudson valley Residence. I will however keep to the same colour scheme as the last building.

Final ideas:

I have changed the layout slightly to fit the space easily. I created large glass doors to welcome customers into the building. I have extended the cover over the outside door limiting the amount of rain or sunlight shining over those walking from the canopy to the inside of the building. I also changed the fence going around the top of the building. The fence was quite unattractive therefore I changed it to a barrier for the safety of those on the rooftop. I also added a canopy over the outside entrance of the stairs to protect rain from coming inside the building.
