The pleasantly imaginable and dream-able transpired for 47year old Onismo Murambiwa when he “struck gold” and won $1 million on the 19th of February, 2020 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The father of three said that it felt surreal when he discovered that he had a winning ticket. Speaking to “The Brampton” a local publication for the city of Brampton, Murambiwa said, “I thought, this is not happening! I scanned the ticket a dozen more times. It was a shock to the system. I even took a photo of the
Ticket Checker!” “As a realtor, I handle big cheques all the time. It feels incredible that this one is mine. I don’t know what to say – this feels like a dream.”
Murambiwa revealed that he was going to treat himself to a brand new car only. The rest of the money, however, is going to be put into savings for later investments. In a surprising coincidence, another resident of Brampton also won big in the lottery. Alyssa Caetano received $197,679.90 after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the Jan. 7, 2020, draw. Caetano also won $44.30 with another selection on the same ticket,
bringing her total winnings to $197,724.20. Caetano told the OLG that she would use the winnings to purchase a car for her mom and a plane ticket for her best friend from Croatia to visit Canada. Speaking after the win, Caetano said, “The rest of the money I will invest, or maybe put towards the purchase of a home. I never thought I would win – I’m kind of speechless.”
