Research Mapping of farm land property at Hazawa Yokohama

Data of Hazawa -cultivated acreage: 23ha -how many farmer joined in agri-cooperative: 47 as a business :24 among 47 as a self-served: 10 among 47 -among “as a business (24) as full time job: 47% type1:with the side job:13% type2:with the side job:40% -2.2person / family -Rate of aging:23.7%

This is a notation of land property around the hazawa station. Through the research, I found that farm land especially in front of the new station subdivided. Because of subdivision, the local farmer can not make a profit, and not to have a young successor. Therefore, the farm land will disappear. On the other hand, I found good point :local farmer know each other due to the proximity. In order to keep this Hazawa character, I propose to keep this farm by gathering a variety of character, not as redevelopment. Farm land in Hazawa

Even if the land is subdivided , some farmer succeeds in growing flower in the greenhouse. Paying attention these people, it seems to be possible to sustain city agriculture by seeding high profit crops with little amount.(stopping to make low Seemingly, it seems as a one property, but actually there are a lot of land owner.

My Sugguestion a. high profit crops with variety

■ new relationship “farmer × enterprise × variety high profit crops

profit ratio ( per 1000m2)

b. invite various enterprise Due to the proximity to station, there is chance of inviting enterprize. I propose to invite a thirdparty such as enterprise , short-stay people who can keep managing this land, and to make highprofit crops with a little amount , at the same time, a large amount of species to sustain this farm land.

program example -pasta factory where visitor can meet producer -farmer who sell and produce dry-fruit made -strawberry maker who sell jam made by it -free designer association that sells orinal item -people who edit magazine of Hazawa -share office

■ Diagram of new relationship Sharing high cost equipment such as wrapping material, greenhouse, machines, enables them to reduce cost. Produces original vegetable soup, ready cut vegetble.ready made, salade

Nanoco Head Office Credit: VTN Architects(Vo Trong Nghia Architects) // Time: July 2016 // Program : Showroom, Office // Location : Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam // Site area : 295m2 // GFA : 1,990m2 // Responsibility: Concept Design (Interior, Rooftop), // Detail Design (Staircase, Toilet, Interior), // 3D Visualization, // Tool: Revit, AutoCad, 3dsMax Located in a newly developing area in Ho Chi Minh City, this head office and showroom for an electrical corporation aspires to express its own identity. The building is formed by alternately-stacked boxes wrapped with glass blocks, and creating terraces in between to accommodate trees. This facade functions as a filter which optimizes climatic and visual conditions. It diffuses intense direct sunlight in the daytime, creating ideal luminous environment for interior. On the contrary, at night, it turns into a beacon lighting box illuminating the neighborhood. Glass block reduces thermal transmission due to its low solar heat gain, contributing to low energy consumption compared to typical glazed facade. Taking into account the high density surrounding in the near future, the glass blocks are meant to blur and calm the view to the outside, while the trees provide green ambience throughout the building. 14

Robe of Facility 2012

Competition // 27th Architectural Environmental Design CompetitionTheme: Visualized Facility Architecture // Awarded "Fine Work"

Architecture wearing facility robe. The robe catches the japanese four season, cilimate, and converge it into a comfortable environment.Standard facility such as pipe & duct which has been placed on the roof or core will disappeared and minimized in this project. As a result, new visualized facility turn out to be out like wearing light clothe, and create active landscape. This architecture correspond to four season with a variety of special membrane, and adjust the environment like we wear clothe. In summer, one membrane absorb water ,and evaporate ,and give comfortable air.In winter, one membrane block cold wind, and receive sun light, and accumulate heat, and this heats room. When it is comfortable day, we can open all the membrane window, and feel the outside air. Everytime wind flows, this architecture expand as we breathe air. This architecture get dressed and undressed along with season. This make us & city to feel 28

season landscape.

House in Asia Monsoon Climate 2012 Competition // 39th Nisshin Kogyo Architectural Design Competition // Theme: “House in Asian Monsoon Climate //Awarded "1st prize" The advantage of living in asian monsoon area seems to me that sharing comfortable environment with other animals and plants and people what can not be gained in living alone. Imagined the landscape;japanese traditional wooden structure "Kakezukuri" overlaps with swingin. The small wooden structure is inserted in the existing building making new structure. And the curtain wall of building is removed. The private space that has been closed in the past come to be public open space, and making wider and smaller size of sharing space where wind flows. Sharing space made by rebuilding overlaps, and makes three-dimensional terrace which is made by constructing loose partition roof and floor on the structure. A various kind of relationships is made, and a sense of distance changes 31

continuously, and people and animals and plants change their sense of distance and makes relationship mutually.

"Local -Social unit" sharing along a Valley Credit: Kai Echigo // Awarded "2nd prize" (Solo) (among 428 works) // Time: 2012 // Program : mixed use // Location : 47th Central Grass International Architectural Design Competition What is the town hall for those who live in a disaster hitted area? What can I do in order to make familiarity and Otsuti pride? It seems to me that the town hall should be used as the base of a life, and building it together with those who live. In this architecure, people build the town hall together using lumber that tells culture where 200 people live along the valley. This can be common place for peripheral people, and primary shelter to escape from disaster, and root for traditional festival ,and makes new landscape and 32

recovery symbol of Otsuti.

Yeoui-Naru Ferry Terminal Competition Credit: VTN Architects(Vo Trong Nghia Architects) // Time: 2017 // Program : Ferry Terminal Location : Seoul, Korea // GFA : 5200m2 // Responsibility: Concept Design, 3D Visualization // Tool: Rhinoceros, AutoCad, 3dsMax(corona)

Concept The Ferry Terminal is located on the riverfront of Ichon area where there are large riverside parks but relativly flat and limited in public facility due to fooding condition. The approach is to design a landmark system including the ferry terminal and other public amenities to revitalize the local activity and reconnect the riverfront to its neighbourhood. The strategy is to add layers of sustainable infrastructure and connections on of top the existing landscape. The hills works as artificial landscape, building envelops, anti-flood dike but also as multi-level connections. The platform system connects the hills - ferry terminal and public amenities - above flood level, acts as the roof for activity below and forms internal courtyard which promotes community event. Together, the design works as an eco-friendly system integrated into the existing condition, a man-made landscape of connectivity and community, representing a forward looking image of Future Han River. 44

# VTN workl

Concept: Hill & Platform The Hills acts as a dike system at bottom and completed with geogrid/ erosion control system on the surface to provide ood resilience condition to the greenery. e Dome structure creates big span space for public space within. Various conditions of the hill (slopes, steps, terraces...) will promote variety community activities. e gentle slope will provide multilevel accesses to ferry terminal and promenade system. The platform provides connections to the hills / buildings system to ensure normal operation at 15m level. It also acts as enclosure, providing internal courtyards below. 45

# VTN workl

Expansion Strategy The Ferry Terminal is not only expected to be a landmark of the area but also the first seed of the development of 4 core buildings of the Han River Cooperation Project, and moreover the future expansion of public space along riverside public green strip of the Yeoui-Ichon Zone. 46
