Concept Statement My first design is inspired by the art and cultures that the residents wanted to incorporate into their space. I wanted a cohesive feel to the two cultures that stayed true to each clients heritage but didn't feel like two competing styles trying to inhabit the same space. I took inspiration from "Ethinc Chic" or "Bohemian" styles of interior design to create a modern global style but narrowed down my design choices to represent both Korean and African art and culture specifically. I want both of my clients to feel represented and comfortable in their home and that means seeing art and textiles that represent them culturally. Design One is also very natural in color and feel. I used a lot of wood and natural color inspiration such as green, white, and gray. I want the art to be on display and not to be distracted by wall color. This design is to feel very clean, earthy, and sophisticated.
