Rodchenko Response We looked at Rochenko and his architectural outcomes that range from linear shapes and abstract images. With this image I decided to have a contrast and have the strong rigid points together with the soft leaves to make a piece which works together by being distinctly different. RODCHENKO

After responding to Rodchenko’s work we presented our images in one 9x9 tile outcome, by doing this I worked on trying to present separate images in one coherent piece looking at leadings lines or complementary shapes. Sunday, 2 February 2014

Lin Osborn Responses

Sunday, 2 February 2014

After looking at typologies I decided to make two very different outcomes. One in a staged area with a high key background and artificial lighting so I could really focus on getting a vibrant colour contrasting against the white background.

My different outcome was made with images taken from the natural environment, I used natural lighting and backgrounds so I got a mixture of natural green tones from trees and also quite rustic images due to the environment they were from. Sunday, 2 February 2014

Ted Van Cleave responses

Sunday, 2 February 2014

After looking at Ted Van Cleave’s work I decided to do quite an architectural based outcome with a strong simple structure but an odd, bold colour replacing the simple background. The two pink images were also made to look a bit different with the composition as the white clouds break up the colours making it look softer and more natural. Sunday, 2 February 2014

Handmade Response

With my handmade response I first made a composition of buildings and structures that work well together and I then used lots of media techniques such as painting, paint scraping, printing and scratching to create a very textured image, grainy image. Sunday, 2 February 2014

Handmade/ Digital Response

With these two images I made handmade backgrounds but then manipulated them with images that I thought worked well. With the maps I thought the buildings were a good idea as it fits with the idea of streets and architecture creating quite a strong theme. With the image on the right that was quite an abstract background that was quite dark and grainy with lines and text so to contrast this I added the tree via photoshop to add something that you wouldn’t expect to see in the image. Street photography With my street photography I tried to capture really raw images of the streets and tried to look closer at things we just usually pass by. With the image to the right it really appealed to me just being able to capture someones daily routine and interests at the same time. Seeing a man moving around town just enjoying reading and wearing his interest is the reason the image is so simple but also interesting. The image below was caught by trying to capture the different styles of buildings together but by doing this the couple to the left walked into the frame and by doing this managed to change the whole feel of the picture alongside the couple on the right; It made the image change from an architectural image to more of a documentation of couples.

Street photography

This image incorporates two main styles, it shows my street theme being continued and people doing what interests them but it also shows motion blur and captures an action shot actually showing us exactly what someone s doing. Sunday, 2 February 2014

Split Tone

With this image we looked at the way we can get images to have a different tone about them changing the feel of the photo. I took the image out in a natural environment and managed to capture the conditions of certain places so this works well with street photography as it creates quite a warm approach to quite a cold image. Jasper James Response Through looking at Jasper James’ work I made my own with the use of a high key background and a strong light source behind the person. By doing this it created the silhouette we needed to then add over the city image of our choice which works well as it can be seen to give the effect of looking out into that area so all the images look as if they were all taken together. Light trails Through looking at exposure and camera settings I came out with these two outcomes for my light trails. By doing the light trails in this way they in some ways lead you through the photo and help you to notice other things such as the sky or even things as simple as the direction or movement of individual cards and their light path.

Panoramas On deciding to do a response to panoramas I took a different, cubed approach. I took over 100 individual images of the christmas markets and slowly put them altogether creating a 180degree image of the Manchester markets.

Panoramas

The cubes are quite interesting as every little section is of something different and so m little images can work well together and make one large scale outcome.
