Final exam OUTCOMES By Kayley stanbridge
CD Cover Design This is my CD Cover Design in which I created during my Exam. The Elements I like most about this design is its bright coloring, in which gives it a very fresh, vibrant feel. I like The Element title I used on the front cover as I feel its contrasts well with the background colours. Influences seen in my Design from the Artists I studied are the use of a simplistic layout; seen in designs of both kacper kiec and Alexander Isachsen in their work, in which a lot of negative space is used. As in a design of Alexander isachsen I decided to use a dominant shape on my cover; the triangle. Furthermore, through the exploration of different ways in using typography I created my bands title using the merging of different images related to elements. As seen; grass – to reflect on nature/earth, Flames -to reflect on the element of fire. As well as the use of water ripples for the water element. This is effective in respects of directly linking to the briefs theme of the elements; Earth, Fire, Water, Air.
CD Cover Design 2 This is an second variation of my CD design created in the exam. I made sure to make this more simplified in leaving out the ‘element’ Logo name on the front cover. I also enlarged the size of the triangle to make it more dominant as there is no longer a dominant text title. I feel this reflects more of cd work of alexander isachsen as it is much more simplistic in design without the need of text.
Movie Poster(s) These are the posters I created in my exam. For my secondary client; a movie producer wanting posters for an upcoming motion picture called ‘Elements’. They are slightly different in design, with the second poster not quite finished in the time of the exam. The first poster on the left that I created I feel is very effective in its purpose. Portraying the characters of the film nicely reflecting their powers through their colour and related pictures behind them such as the flames and water. However, one element I feel that is missed out is the bottom information found on a movie poster which would make it more authentic, this was not achieved purely as a result of the lack of time.
