Hospitality Design Shinjuku Grand Hotel The Shinjuku Grand Hotel is a Health and Wellness Spa Hotel located in Tokyo, Japan. The hotel is inspired by the Japanese Zen garden, a tranquil landscape that is created as a place for contemplation and meditation. Island like arrangements of space throughout the design represent stones and other elements and serve as a guide for movement throughout the space. The bold contrast of colors is reminiscent of the contrast between the stone, greenery, and sand. The lines and shapes derived from Zen gardens are emphasized in the layout, materials, and lighting.

Multi-Use Design Crossroad Homeless Shelter Crossroad is located in Athens, Georgia, the 10th county in Georgia on the poverty list. This project expands knowledge on sustainability by theoretically designing the building to be LEED Silver. Crossroad Rehabilitation Center provides safe shelter, food, support services, and a community that allows homeless individuals to find their path back to self-sufficiency and independence. The center strives to be energetic and interactive, so that the homeless individuals feel hope and inspiration. Crossroad expects its members to be sober, drug-free, and willing to work. Although there will always be setbacks, Crossroad strives to encourage residents to have responsibility, so they can gain back their integrity and have a better possibility of being independent again. My design inspiration for this project is railroads, because at a train station there are many paths to choose that get you to your destination, which is how Crossroad works. Individuals choose their own path to get them back on track. Linear and repetitive elements are seen throughout the design to reinforce the concept. Homelessness is a growing issue in the United States and the right design in life, structures, and environment, can help this. Crossroad hopes to contribute to the solution of ending homelessness, because it is through good design that we can create a better community.

Professional Work Fowler Office Interiors I am currently interning at Fowler Office Interiors which has provided me with excellent hands-on experience. I have done a variety of corporate design projects from simply ordering a chair off State Contract for UGA to designing entire offices for commercial companies. I am thankful to say that Fowler Office Interiors has allowed me to get notable professional experience by allowing me to do all aspects of the design process. I would like to show you a couple of my more extensive projects that I worked on. On these projects, I was given the opportunity to met with clients in order to measure office space, consult with them to determine their wants and needs, space out furniture and determine the specs, and calculate quotes. At every phase, I strived to exceed the client’s expectations and get them what they needed in a timely manner.

Bringing an offfice to Monroe, Georgia, I helped measure the office space that they are renovating right next to the facotry floor. Flexo Converters wnated to private offices within the space for HR along with additional offices. They wanted a clean traditional look.

Rehabmart.com was building a new office space to expand their company and I assissted in designing the open office space, the executive office, the conference room, the accountant cubicles, and the breakroom using Hon, Humanscale, and Allseating. They were going for a very open and modern look.
