I want to use what I have learned in business for public service to you, representing your voice in Miami County.
Beverly SHANE
In the previous 3 years, the average property tax bill has increased over 8%.
for
The average home value has remained steady, and still lower than 2004.
County Commissioner The decision on the location, and the design, will have been completed before I would take office. The Commissioners presented Sheriff Kelly, and the voters, with a Campus concept, on a green-site. That is what was supported, and won approval. That is what the Sheriff, County Commissioners, and the Public wanted. Sheriff Kelly should be able to make a choice between Downtown, and the vision he was given. The Commissioners, and Paola, should do everything possible to support his choice, and find ways to make things work, not come up with complications. I will not be taking part in that decision, but 75028483
The State of Kansas is finding ways to reduce our revenues, from sources other than Property and Sales Taxes.
I will have a part in making sure, whichever location, and design is selected, that your tax dollars are spent wisely, and without waste.
The County is retiring debt (as scheduled) next year. That amount could have easily funded the jail. Instead, it will be spent how?
I will support, and work, with the decision made by the current Commissioners. My opinions, and feelings, on the location are irrelevant.
Problem identification, combined with the development, and implementation of solutions, using a long-term vision.
My skills in efficiency, finance, budgets, and more… are relevant.
