KC has it all. From delectable eats, and heaps of outdoor activities, to some of the most talented and educated fitness instructors and wellness professionals in the nation – if I do say so myself.

As a nutritionist and yoga instructor, I have worked to bridge the gap between conventional and functional approaches to healing for more than a decade.
After traveling all over the globe to deepen my knowledge and experience in these practices, at the end of the day, KC is my forever home because of its incredible community.
Check out some of my favorite places to eat, practice and play in the KC Metro area.
> Eats
Baba’s Pantry — A current staple in my weekly rotation. Owned and operated by “Baba” himself and his family, this little gem offers the best Palestinian food you’ll find in the middle of the map. (Plus, it was just named one of Bon Appétit’s 50 Best New Restaurants in America.) Whatever you choose, don’t forget to add shatta and torshi to it!
The Russell — Business meeting? Multiple dietary restrictions? Your parents in town? Whatever the occasion … this is your spot. The Russell has everything from fresh salads to KC’s notorious BBQ, all housed in a rustic-inspired location right off Main Street.

Ruby Jean’s Juicery — These folks have got juice and smoothies down to a science. When it comes to smoothies, I look for more than just fruit and milk. You can count on Ruby Jean’s to bring not only the flavor, but the nutrients to get you through the day.

> Gyms + Studios
Woodside Health Club — If you’re on the hunt for the best gym in town, look no further. Woodside features hundreds of group classes per week led by some of the best instructors in the city. From the gym and the pool to the sauna, snacks and parties, this is your one-stop wellness shop in the KC area.
RoKC — KC peeps are no strangers to the climbing rage, and if you’re going to climb, RoKC is THE place. With multiple locations, weekly classes and both bouldering and rappelling, you won’t be disappointed.
Dance Fit Flow — Located in the heart of the Crossroads Arts District, Dance Fit Flow is the perfect place to LET GO after a stressful day. Put on your stretchy pants, let your hair down and prepare to feel empowered regardless of your dance background.
> Outdoors
Berkley Riverfront Park — Fun for the whole fam. Load up the car for a picnic, drop the kids off at the swing set, meet your buds for a game of sand volleyball or take your doggo for a scenic walk around the river.
Zen Donkey Farms — Truly a one-of-a-kind experience for all ages. Sign up for a farm tour and take in the benefits of donkey-facilitated therapy. Oh, and each juice purchase supports the company’s donkey rescue mission — no brainer.
Chicken N Pickle — C&P checks all the boxes. Rally your friends for a day filled with fun in the sun playing pickleball or any number of leisurely yard games, all while grabbing refreshing drinks and indulging in finger-licking noms.
