Two Dramatically Different Artists Star in a Double Bill at the Osborne Studio Gallery Frippy Jameson, a sculptor, and Daniel Crane, outstanding painter of foxhunting, dedicated to the sport since childhood and former MFH of the Scarteen Hunt in Ireland both have works on display at OSG. Both are distinguished by an association with the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment where Daniel was Artist in Residence and Frippy was invited to sculpt horses of her choice. Frippy Jameson’s thoroughbred racehorses express a calm contemplative quality, which she describes as ‘fragility with strength’. Daniel Crane is one of the leading sporting artists in the UK and a fine horseman himself. Both artists dedicate their art to a celebration of equine beauty and courage. Daniel Crane, born in Norfolk, 1969, is the youngest son of a farming family, joint MFH from 2014 to 2019 of the Scarteen Hunt, perhaps the most iconic pack of hounds in the world. He paints fox hunting scenes with a profound knowledge of the sport: its choreography, finesse and excitement. He was selected to paint Frankel, the greatest racehorse of all time. Also, Valegro, World and Olympic Dressage Champion. www.osg.org.uk Just For Laughs Debut in London Just For Laughs London, the star-studded four-day comedy festival pulls out all the stops to make their indelible mark as it heads to London and takes over the O2 for the first time ever in 2023.

The festival has already revealed the first names taking part including Ryan Reynolds “Maximum Effort”, Graham Norton, Katherine Ryan and Friends, Reggie Watts, Richard Curtis and Rob Delaney with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks. It will be a four-day festival being held between March 2-5 2023 inclusive at The O2. Taking place in various venues covering the full campus of The O2 - from club shows at indigo at The O2 to London’s largest cinema, Cineworld to the installation of Fortuna, an intimate wood and mirror Spiegeltent as an additional performance space as well as the world-famous arena - and featuring a mix of notable headliners, multi-comic shows, live podcast recordings, ‘In Conversations’, cast panels and more, Just for Laughs LONDON promises to deliver larger-than-life laughs as it unites today’s funniest UK and international comedy stars. www.jfllondon.com Asian-inspired, Tropical retreat in the Heart of Chelsea Ollie’s House, a new laid back ‘Bali vibes’ spot, is just opposite Chelsea and Westminster on the corner of Hollywood Road and Fulham Road. Belvedere x Daniel Craig Belvedere has launched its first retail pop up bar in Selfridges London. Every Monday throughout the pop-up, Belvedere will be offering consumers one free fresh and zingy ‘Clubland Cocktail’, offering the perfect start to the week. It is all part of its new global campaign, featuring acclaimed actor Daniel Craig. Other than turning Polish rye grain into a smooth, clean, and flavourful vodka, it is turning its hand to retail by exhibiting in the Men’s Shoe Department on the 1st Floor at Selfridges London. Til January 2023. Belvedere will also launch an exclusively designed ‘Selfridges Edition’ bottle in the ionic yellow the department store is famed for. The bar will deliver a modern and minimalistic aesthetic allowing guests to immerse themselves into the new world of Belvedere. www.selfridges.com

De Nadas’ creates the UK’s First Brusselnada De Nadas, London’s first empanadería specialising in Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas, has launched the UK’s first empanada with Brussels Sprouts. Created in both vegetarian and meat versions, the Brusselnada for veggies features slow-roasted Brussel Sprouts, melted goat’s cheese and caramelised onions, and for meat lovers, the Brusselnada comes with the addition of crispy bacon. Shaped-by-hand with 100% Argentinian dough, all De Nadas’ empanadas are then baked, not fried.DE NADAS will be serving the Brusselnada from 15th November until 31st December.

They are also taking bookings of up to 10 people for wine, Vermouth, and empanada tastings from its Vinyl Wine room. It was created to bring a touch of Buenos Aires to London and give empanadas the cult-like status they deserve in the UK. A Lifesize Snowglobe and Hot Chocolate Pop Up at Four Seasons Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has revealed a life-size snow globe installation in the lobby of the luxury Mayfair address to celebrate the festive period. Guests will step into the hotel and find themselves in a magical, winter wonderland that emulates the snowy trees of the mountains, along with a delicious hot chocolate pop-up on Fridays. Named “Let it Snow with Love” the Christmas decorations nod to the brand’s commitment of showing genuine love and care to all of its guests. Designed in partnership with British artist, florist and sculptor Ruth Davis of All For Love London, the installation also celebrates the city of London through the red colour palette and notable details. www.fourseasons.com

Queer Sounds Royal Court Theatre will feature Sound of the Underground by Travis Alabanza in January 2023. It promises to be a memorable takeover of the Royal Court Theatre by legends of the London Queer club scene and theatregoers can expect punk, profanity and a fierce fight about workers’ rights. In their first play for the Royal Court, Alabanza spotlights London’s iconic underground club culture and questions what it means to get your money’s worth when it comes to art. The production is directed and co-created by Debbie Hannan. Sound of the Underground will run in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from Thursday 19 January to Saturday 25 February 2023. Afternoon tea with a Transatlantic Twist The Beaumont’s Gatsby’s Room has plans for a joyous feast during the Christmas season which will include all-new transatlantic-inspired treats and sandwiches from Executive Chef Ben Boeynaems, as the hotel’s traditional offering undergoes a festive makeover. Guests start their visit with a selection of Christmas sandwiches including Roast Norfolk bronze turkey with stuffing and cranberry; Poached organic salmon with crayfish and lemon; Maple glazed gammon with Pommery mustard and Cacklebean egg with watercress and black truffle mayonnaise, before moving on to enjoy freshly baked Cranberry and buttermilk scones served with with Cornish clotted cream and homemade strawberry preserve. Christine and the Queens announced as 2023 Meltdown festival curator at the Southbank Centre The Southbank Centre has announced that the next curator of its annual, award-winning Meltdown festival – the longest-running artist-curated festival in the world – will be French phenomenon Christine and the Queens. Announced ahead of his Southbank Centre debut this evening, Christine and the Queens will curate the next edition of the legendary festival, which will run Friday 9 June until Sunday 18 June 2023. For his Meltdown, Christine and the Queens will transform the Southbank Centre and its venues into a ten-day celebration of music, arts and culture and will invite artists who have shaped his musical identity, and those who are shaping it today, to perform on the world-class stages of the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room. In addition to ticketed shows, two weekends of free outdoor gigs, performances and activities will celebrate Christine and the Queens’ unique oeuvre and creative vision. Christine and the Queens joins a truly historic cast of previous Meltdown curators. In 2022, Grace Jones battled through disruption and delay to host her edition of Meltdown, the second highest grossing edition in the festival’s 27 year history after The Cure’s Robert Smith in 2018. Burlington Arcade x Paramount Pictures Paramount Pictures Babylon, in cinemas January 2023, has partnered with London’s iconic Burlington Arcade, the renowned historical shopping destination, to bring the magic of the highly anticipated film release Babylon to life with an interactive experience celebrating the timeless era in which the film is set. The installation which decorates the entire length of the 196- yard arcade will run until the end January 2023. Burlington Arcade was a favourite shopping destination for the stars in the 1920’s who used to visit the Arcade’s glamorous boutiques to find unique creations. These include jewellery from Ciro Jewellery, who have been in the Arcade since 1917, when it was trading under its sister company name of Kane Lane. To this date, the Arcade has retained its position as one of the key retail destinations in London where to find a unique luxury offering and this partnership will bring once more the magic of the “Golden Twenties”. www.burlingtonarcade.com

National Theatre’s Highlights for 2023 The pick of the year’s programming is Jack Thorne’s new play The Motive and the Cue which will open in the Lyttelton theatre in May with Johnny Flynn as Richard Burton, Mark Gatiss as John Gielgud and Tuppence Middleton as Elizabeth Taylor. It is essendially a co-production with Neal Street Productions and directed by Sam Mendes, world renowned film director.

Other highlights include Josie Rourke direction of Brian Friel’s Olivier Award-winning play Dancing at Lughnasa in the Olivier theatre, opening in April. Cast includes Siobhán McSweeney of Derry Girls, Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted) and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Translations). Another anticipated production is a new play by Deborah Bruce called Dixon and Daughters, which is a powerful story of family and forgiveness, opens in the Dorfman theatre in April. It is a co-production with Clean Break while Anupama Chandrasekhar’s acclaimed play The Father and the Assassin returns to the Olivier theatre in September 2023 with Paul Bazely returning to play Gandhi www.nationaltheatre.org.uk

Space Age at the Shangri-La Shangri-La The Shard, London is excited to reveal a celestial twist on the festive season this year, revealing a space-age Christmas tree and decorations designed by McQueens Flowers.

Guests visiting London’s highest hotel this Christmas season can enjoy a galaxy-inspired Festive Afternoon Tea, watch the neon lights shimmer throughout the avant-garde Christmas tree, or view London’s fireworks from the best spot in London at a futuristic New Year’s Eve party. Until 31st January, TĪNG Lounge will serve a festive version of its Skyline Afternoon Tea topped with shimmering galactic pastries. Also, Sky Lounge and the hotel’s entire level 34 will be transformed into a futuristic New Year’s Eve party from an alternative universe, complete with a five-piece band and DJ, as well as secret rooms to explore, karaoke, surprise entertainment and glitter and neon face painting alongside champagne, cosmic cocktails and canapés.

Mog the Forgetful Cat The first ever stage adaptation of Judith Kerr’s beloved Mog the Forgetful Cat will embark on a UK tour from 14 February to 29 July 2023 which will culminate with a London run at the Old Vic with further dates to be announced. Adapted for the stage by award-winning innovative theatre collective The Wardrobe Ensemble, Mog the Forgetful Cat is a co-production between The Old Vic, Royal & Derngate Northampton and The Wardrobe Ensemble. This production marks the first ever stage adaptation of Judith Kerr’s bestselling picture books, which had its world premiere at Royal & Derngate Northampton in June this year. Mog the Forgetful Cat will play Bristol Old Vic, Curve Leicester, Lowry Salford, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Exeter Northcott and The Old Vic. Directed by Helena Middleton and Jesse Jones, this lively and enchanting production uses original songs, live music and a menagerie of creatures little and large to bring the iconic stories to life. www.oldvictheatre.com

V&A to stage first major exhibition on Korean culture, Hallyu! The Korean Wave Open now is the V&A’s landmark exhibition Hallyu! The Korean Wave is the first exhibition of its kind to celebrate the colourful and dynamic popular culture of South Korea, following its early origins to its place on the global stage today.

digital cartoons designed for mobile devices, as a source of inspiration for many K-dramas. It will explore recurring themes in TV series, mixing genres and local narratives, such as the country’s relationship with North Korea as depicted on screen.

From K-Pop costumes to K-drama props and posters, alongside photography, sculpture, fashion, video and pop culture ephemera, the exhibition will invite visitors to delve into the phenomenon known as ‘hallyu’ – meaning ‘Korean Wave’. Hallyu rose to prominence in the late 1990s, rippling across Asia before reaching all corners of the world and challenging the currents of global pop culture today.

‘Sounding K-pop and Fandoms’, the third section, will delve into the explosion of K-Pop music around the world, as well as underlining the crucial roles social media and fandoms play in increasing their reach.

Visitors will enter the gallery through a corridor lined by fan lightsticks, then will be greeted by posters, ephemera and album covers from early K-Pop bands like Seo Taiji and Boys and BoA, before progressing through to explore the concept of ‘Idols’ in K-pop. Highlights will include a monumental three-metre-high sculpture of G- Dragon by Gwon Osang, whilst costumes on display will include aespa’s original iridescent outfits from the music video ‘Next Level’, and British punk fashion-inspired ensembles worn by four members of ATEEZ in the music video ‘Fireworks’.

Hallyu! The Korean Wave will explore the makings of the Korean Wave through cinema, drama, music and fandoms, and underline its cultural impact on the beauty and fashion industries. The exhibition will feature around 200 objects across four thematic sections – including some loans never seen in the UK before – alongside pop culture ephemera and digital displays. Highlights will include an immersive re-creation of Parasite’s bathroom set, and an array of iconic costumes and props seen in K-drama, film and music – including from hit Netflix series Squid Game, and outfits worn by different generations of K-pop idols, from PSY, to aespa and ATEEZ. It will also present monumental artworks, including by Nam June Paik, Ham Kyungah and Gwon Osang; around 20 high fashion looks by Tchai Kim, Miss Sohee and Minju Kim among others; as well as early examples of advertising and branding, including an original poster from the Seoul Olympics, and the first Korean branded cosmetic from the 1910s. In the exhibition, hallyu will also be used as a gateway to explore traditional and contemporary Korean culture by connecting historic objects with popular culture and socio-political events.

About the Exhibition The exhibition will open with a familiar example of hallyu: PSY’s viral 2012 hit single ‘Gangnam Style’, with his iconic pink suit jacket on display. The song and its quirky dance moves were an overnight sensation, and it became the first music video to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

The hugely successful video was an early reflection of hallyu’s international appeal that went on to launch a global phenomenon, inspiring parodies and cover versions across the world, several examples of which, filmed across multiple continents, will also feature in this introduction.

The final section in Hallyu!, titled ‘Making K-beauty and Fashion’, will present K-beauty and fashion, underlining their origin whilst showcasing their innovative and experimental approach that led to new aesthetic standards both inside and outside of Korea. It will also highlight how product placement in K-dramas and endorsements from K-Pop idols have amplified the international profile of K-beauty and fashion. Featuring cosmetics packaging from the 13th century to the present day, the exhibition will trace packaging’s design evolution, from ornate porcelain pots to items including face mask wrappings boasting idols as superheroes. Hallyu! will conclude with K-fashion, showcasing over 20 looks by contemporary hanbok and fashion designers from Korea and the Korean diaspora.

Section one, ‘From Rubble to Smartphones’, will provide historical context to the meteoric rise of hallyu, highlighting how – within living memory – South Korea rapidly evolved from a country ravaged by war in the late 1950s to a leading cultural powerhouse by the early 2000s.

Korea’s 20th-century history is marked by the Japanese colonial occupation, the territorial division that led to the Korean War, and the subsequent 27 years of military rule. In the 1960s and 70s South Korea experienced rapid industrialisation and economic growth, and the country was propelled onto the international stage in 1988 with the Seoul Summer Olympics, changing Korea’s image overseas for the first time. Despite the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, bold strategies and IT innovations turned South Korea into one of the most digitally connected countries in the world by the late 90s. Korea’s modern history will be represented and explored in the exhibition through photography, posters and archive materials, alongside objects ranging from Olympics posters to early examples of electronics – including the world’s first commercial MP3 player – and a monumental 1986 video sculpture by artist Nam June Paik, featuring 33 TV monitors.

Section two – ‘Spotlighting K-drama and Cinema’ – will focus on the remarkable success of K-drama and film, charting in turn their rise in popularity from the late 1990s to the present day, through multimedia, installations, posters, storyboards, props and costumes. Highlights in this section will include the iconic pink guard costumes and green tracksuit from hit Netflix series Squid Game, and a recreation of the bathroom set from Bong Joon- Ho’s Oscar-winning film Parasite. This will be the first time the bathroom in the Kim family’s banjiha – or semi-basement apartment – will be re-created, under the guidance of its acclaimed Production Designer Lee Ha Jun. Traditional Korean costumes and props will also be on display, including hats seen in Joseon era zombie series Kingdom, and the grooming kit from The Handmaiden. Finally, this section will showcase webtoons, a Korean innovation of

From the Saatchi Gallery and the V&A to the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. Sometimes art and science collide in a way that is so direct that you just have to sit up and take notice. Multimedia artist Iona Scott’s work does just that. Her beautiful sculptures, which are linked via QR code to her stunningly immersive animated films, take you deep into the submarine world of plankton, connecting us intrinsically to the ocean, to nature, and to our own essence as part of our planet.

Born in London, Iona Scott also has a special connection to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The great granddaughter of Evelyn Jervoise, Iona is a direct descendant of the famed Jervoise family, for whom there is a notable monument in Chelsea Old Church. The monument, a triumphal arch built in 1563 within the West arched entrance of the Lawrence Chapel, is believed to have been erected to Richard Jervoise, Sheriff of London, who died in 1557.

We sat down with Iona to speak about her work, her inspirations and her plans.

1. We love your Discosphaera Plankton Light Sculptures - can you tell us a bit about them?

Thank you so much. The Discosphaera tubifera is a type of single-celled marine microplant – or phytoplankton, from whose shape the form of my Discosphaera sculptures are derived. My work aims to stimulate a closer connection with these incredible tiny lifeforms, invisible to the human eye and yet responsible for producing approximately 50% of the oxygen on our planet!

The Discosphaera Plankton Light Sculptures have been developed over the last 31 years from the original 6 ft fibreglass and metal Discosphaera sculpture I made for my degree show back in 1991.

2. Do you remember the moment you first became so fascinated by the idea?

Yes! The Head of Sculpture at Norwich School of Art where I did my Fine Art Degree was an avid scuba diver and gave slide shows of the underwater world. As soon as I saw that world, I was hooked and wanted to recreate it somehow on a human scale.

3. Growing up in London, it is interesting that you found this oeuvre around marine life, while living in such an urban environment…

Yes, it is interesting. Looking back, growing up in London, I always yearned for nature. Fortunately, I was able to visit family and friends regularly in the countryside. So apart from that, the nearby River Thames and particularly derelict buildings became like wild nature to me.

I do think that generally we have become disconnected from nature, especially in cities. My work is largely about reconnecting with ourselves through the essence of nature, as I think on some level we need to be reminded that we are part of nature and that our survival is intrinsically linked to our planet Earth.

From that place maybe we can feel more inspired and empowered to make the changes we need. This is why I was so motivated back in 2004 to make immersive experiences to allow the audience to have a sensory understanding of the reality of this microscopic submarine dimension, as I think on some deep level we recognise the geometry.

My Computer Animation and Special Effects MA Final Project in 1998 was called ‘Polygon Plankton.’ In this, a Discosphaera (which I see as the essence of nature) came to visit our world. It was after this in 2002 that I came up with the idea of visiting this other microscopic submarine dimension and I made my animation called ‘Planktonworld’. I was then commissioned by Kew Gardens in 2004 to create a stereoscopic 3D animation exhibit called ’Swimming with phytoplankton in 3D.’ 4. You are also known for putting your works in public spaces and urban environments...

sculpture was the main exhibit as an indoor installation and also as an outdoor installation at a disused brush factory near the art school.

From the day I graduated I have exhibited my Discosphaera sculpture consistently over the last 31 years in many diverse locations, predominantly due to my involvement in the art and music scenes in London, Brighton and San Francisco. I have a deep desire to make my work as accessible as possible and I love the juxtaposition of art in an unexpected outdoor urban environment and so it has mostly been exhibited outside of a traditional gallery context.

I love the way that each location creates a unique combination every time. A significant aspect of my work relates to scale and so magnifying these otherwise invisible creatures and placing them in our human scale environment also really excites me. I think they work really well in abstract locations but now as public institutions such as museums and aquariums are becoming more aware of the significance of these creatures, I am finding more locations in which the context is much more closely related and that brings a whole new and inspiring element to my work.

I believe that art is for everyone and ideally invites us to notice art everywhere. Then life and living becomes more magical.

5. As a child, were you in a creative or artistic environment?

Yes. Everything from clothes to sofa covers and crockery, to the stair and floor carpets were made by my mother, so my immediate environment was literally created by her. My father worked as a surveyor, and my stepfather is the abstract painter, Frank Bowling, whom my mother Rachel Scott has tirelessly supported over the last 40 years. I think that all of this has had a huge effect on me and I am extremely grateful.

6. What inspires you most now? Whether people, places, ideas or things?

I would say it’s a combination of strengthening my connection to nature and myself through finding and doing things I love, expressing myself creatively and connecting with others.

7. What are you currently working on?

I am constantly working on developing my Discosphaera project through exhibitions, events and collaborations. Currently I am looking for public facing spaces to exhibit and also to collaborate with outlets for people to buy my Discosphaera Plankton Light Sculptures through which to support and help create a community around ocean conservation. I am also developing the more interactive and educational aspects of my work to exhibit, including large scale projection mapping of my animations over or alongside my Plankton Light Sculptures.

8. And what can we expect next?

I have some of my artwork in a few exhibitions coming up, including ’These Momentous Times’ at the Bookery Gallerie in London, until 12 January 2023. I also have a few small pieces in my mother Rachel Scott’s exhibition ‘Weave my World’ at Make Hauser & Wirth Somerset, on until 11 February 2023.

Haley Josephs – Every Part of the Dream Haley Josephs – Every Part of the Dream Until 23 December 2022 Almine Rech London Grosvenor Hill, Broadbent House, London W1K 3JH The exhibition begins with Food Sloshing in Baby’s Mouth / Sunlight Through Window (2022), where a baby is being fed breakfast as rays of sunshine beam through the window and onto the scene. A myriad of sensory experiences are highlighted: the warmth of the morning sun, the food and flavours being energetically consumed, the hands of the mother or caretaker as they gently yet firmly support the rapidly growing body. This illustrates the beginning, where an equation begins to be assembled–what it means to be alive. In attending to what Josephs considers the ‘dream of reality’, our experience of the world becomes a dream and a seductive illusion. Therein, the human subject experiences something akin to an education on how our modes of interpretation can materialize within this new sphere of consciousness.

As we continue in the exhibition, we witness the figure travelling on their way–an open pathway presenting the journey forward through the dream. The potential purpose for each figure is to awaken. The encompassing wilderness, and the way in which wilderness itself is ‘alive’, forces the figure to snap out of the dream and into the present. After the dreamer awakens, the surrounding landscape provides a restorative awareness of reality. Stacey Gillian Abe – Shrublet of Old Ayivu

Shrublet of Old Ayivu, the first UK solo exhibition from Ugandan artist Stacey Gillian Abe, is an exploration of memory, time and emotion. In Abe’s striking, hand-embroidered paintings, she examines how memories have been passed down through her own family lineage, alluding to the ways in which traditions are absorbed and transformed from generation to generation.

indigo through its connection to cloth and material, and the relationship cloth has to the body. Through delicate embroidery and depiction of cloth as strong visual elements throughout this body of work, Abe revisits the traditional, historical and personal significance her native culture ascribes to cloth and colour. www.unitlondon.com

Notable throughout this body of work is Abe’s central use of the colour indigo to depict her figures’ skin. In African tradition, indigo is a celestial colour that links the human and the divine, as well as a symbol of protection, with newborns wrapped in an indigo cloth. Often referred to as ‘blue gold,’ the rich dye holds an important place in African history, and Abe’s use of the colour in her exploration of generational memory is particularly poignant. Playing a seminal role in centuries-old textile traditions in West Africa, indigo was introduced to East Africa through the exchange of textiles, facilitating the East African slave trade, as indigo-dyed fabric would be exchanged for the human body.

Gavin Turk – Kerze Over the last three decades, Turk has relentlessly challenged notions of value, authorship, and identity in his work, often by boldly referencing the work of modern masters and infusing it with his own identity and hand as an artist. His work is at once provocative, disruptive, humorous, mischievous, and erudite, earning him the distinction as one of the most interesting and notorious contemporary British artists today.

The exhibition Kerze, the German word for candle, brings together a new body of paintings based on Richter’s iconic series from the early 1980s of sublimely elegant and disquietingly haunting photorealist paintings of lit candles. Singular and in groupings up to three, arranged in hazily lit interior spaces, the still lifes are framed by the horizontal lines of tabletops and verticality of obscured curtains or windows in the background. In Turk’s faithful iterations, the candles have recently been snuffed out, their delicate threads of waxy smoke illuminating the canvas, altering the narrative, and shifting the symbolism inherent to the subject matter.

Turk is fascinated by objects and imagery connected to the psyche and the surreal: candles, pipes, eggs, doors, windows, clouds, and smoke appear throughout his body of work. He consciously incorporates art historical references into his work, layering them mischievously like clues. Saatchi Gallery presents The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion, a ground breaking exhibition featuring 15 international Black photographers contributing to a new vision of the Black figure and reframing representation in art and fashion. This exhibition is a celebration of Black creativity both in-front of and behind the camera. Featured works include Black stylists, models, make-up artists and creative directors who are bringing a radically new set of references and experiences to image making. This runs until 22 January 2023.

The New Black Vanguard is curated by American writer and critic Antwaun Sargent who explores a new aesthetic of Black portraiture while examining the cross-pollination between art, fashion, and culture in the making of images.

The New Black Vanguard presents artists whose vibrant portraits and conceptual images fuse the genres of art and fashion photography in ways that break down long-established boundaries. Their work has been widely presented in traditional lifestyle magazines, ad campaigns, and museums, as well as on their individual social media channels; infusing the contemporary visual vocabulary around beauty and the body with new vitality and substance.

The image opens up conversations around the representation of the Black body and Black lives as subject matter. Collectively, the works celebrate Black creativity. Seeking to challenge the idea that Blackness is homogenous, the works serve as a form of visual activism delivered by emerging talents who are creating photography in vastly different contexts — be it in New York or Johannesburg, Lagos or London. The results — often made in collaboration with Black stylists and fashion designers — present new perspectives on the medium of photography and the notions of race, beauty, gender and power.

This exhibition includes selected works from these ground breaking contemporary photographers, as well as a salon wall presentation of images created by other young Black photographers contributing to

this movement. Vitrines of publications, past and present, contextualise these images and chart the history of inclusion, and exclusion, in the creation of the Black commercial image. The exhibition proposes a brilliantly re-envisioned future.

On my visit, Alina, the Director, made me a delicious flat white coffee, and I could have gladly curled up indefinitely with one of the magazines or newspapers on offer – but there was so much more to see.

It goes without saying in these testing times that their precautions against any of their vulnerable members catching Covid are fuss-free but thorough, with state-of-the-art testing equipment on the premises to facilitate this. Innovative technology is key to providing unobtrusive ways of making sure that everybody is safe. Sensors detecting movement can trigger soft lighting to guide you at night-time, and throughout the building the lighting changes subtly through dawn to dusk, so that even spaces without natural light are attuned to reality.

There are countless inspired ideas which have been developed to help people with dementia deal with everyday struggles in a positive way.

But to those of us fortunate enough to have only a very basic grasp of the particular problems being addressed, the overall impression of Loveday is simply one of comfort, even luxury.

Shangri La Paris – A Prince’s Mansion The Eiffel Tower stands proud in the middle of Paris, arguably the most enchanting city in the world. Everybody’s favourite romantic haven of a metropolis is awash with an endless mix of elegant and palatial buildings comprising some of the most delectable and sophisticated cafes and restaurants, luxury designer shops and top class hotels. Standing firm at the top of the totem pole alongf with a few other worthy candidates is the Shangri-La Paris. The London incarnation of the Shangri-La may quite literally be the top/highest hotel in Europe but the the Paris property achieves the same albeit metaphorically. Housed in the one-time palace of Prince Roland Bonaparte, great nephew of Napoleon, the hotel is second to none when it comes to sheer opulence and perfect service in one of the most popular cities in the world to visit. Neighbours with Palais De Tokyo and the Museum of Modern Art which inhabit the same thoroughfare, Shangri-La Paris is also in stellar company with the Eiffel Tower - only half a kilometre away! The rooms and suites easily boast the best views in the city and whilst you admire Paris’ timeless sprawling landscapes, you can also be sure to enjoy some of the most enthralling eating and dining establishments, a heavenly spa and some therapeutic shooping courtesy of some of the top luxury brands that abound in the immediate area.

There are some rather interesting modern elements that seamlessly blend in with the original antique décor. However, the overwhelming splendour of the property rests most obviously on its nineteenth century roots being Prince Roland’s carefully crafted mansion. The Shangri -La in Paris is a showstopper in every department and a joy to savour.

Location is everything in the French capital and this, the Paris property of Shangri-La Group, their first in Europe before the emergence of the London incarnation in The Shard, is unbeatable as aforementioned.

Built in 1896, the royal touches are plain to see and the hotel has a resplendence that shines bright right from the moment you enter its lustrous, marble reception hall to the gleaming halls, ornate function rooms and elegant grand staircase which underpin its overall elegance.

A particular favourite of mine is the spa, Chi. Its tall ceiling skies above the most magnificent pool that juts out of the main indoor area to give it a spectacular outdoorsy feel. The 24 hour gymnasium is complemented by various treatment rooms offering the best in holistic massage and therapy. Prince Roland Bonaparte was a botanist and La Bar Botaniste, located in the lobby, honours the original resident of the property. It boasts rare botanical spirits and authentic absinthe fountains - all very exotic and decadent at the same time. Gourmet Tapas complement the carefully crafted creations and the ambience of the place is as gorgeous as the idea behind it. Soft Riviera-style wallpaper, leather sofas and chairs and various wooden touches combine to produce an uber-cosy atmosphere. Roland was a geographer too and cocktails reflect the discoveries he made on his journeys through Asia. There are also astrological symbols in the lobby which hint at his varied passions.

La Bauhinia is the hotel’s South East Asian restaurant with a penchant for capturing flavours of that part of the world with mastery and authenticity comparable to the best restaurants in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Its extensive menu can also be sampled on the seasonal terrace that opens up in Spring and Summer to let residents soak in some of the Parisian sun with the Eiffel Tower in the back drop.

Perhaps even more enthralling is Chang Palace, France’s only Michelin starred Chinese restaurant. Chef Samuel Lee has made sure that it retained its rating for the tenth year in a row. He has adroitly crafted a menu of over sixty dishes, taking diners on a ‘Cantonese gastronomic journey through The Middle Kingdom’ supporting local French produce along the way. Favourites include Beggar’s Chicken cooked in a clay crust according to legend, and the “good luck” Lo Hei Salmon, to the famous Roasted Peking Duck. A Chinese mandolin player often graces diners in the evenings with the most authentic renditions of folk melodies to transport you straight to the orient within the restaurant’s jade columns, sculpted screens and crystal chandeliers.

Very few hotels in Paris can rival the offerings at Shangri La. It has the perfect location, outstanding personnel and service, grand spaces and halls, regal suites, some jaw-dropping views of the Eiffel Tower, nearby shopping streets and some rather delectable food and dining options.

Mezcalito

A Taste of Mexico in the Heart of Chelsea Mezcalito Chelsea is Sydney Street’s go-to spot for flamboyant cocktails and fiestas. Emily Williams explores the Mexican sharing menu and the impressive collection of Agave spirits.

Tucked away on Sydney Street just a stone’s throw from the King’s Road, Mezcalito Chelsea is a vibrant Mexican-inspired bar and eatery that awaits curious passersby. As I stepped into its upbeat jungle-like interior on a dark autumnal evening, I felt compelled to discover what this eclectic food and drink destination had to offer.

Open on Tuesdays to Sundays from 5pm until late, Mezcalito Chelsea consists of a tiki-style bar, a beachy wood-panelled dining area and a garden lounge with a retractable roof. While the earlier bookings have a bright and airy ambience, the natural daylight is soon swapped for kaleidoscopic disco lighting and a Latino pop soundtrack to kickstart the party. From day to night, Mezcalito offers a lively and uplifting vibe in the heart of Chelsea.

On arrival, we were welcomed into a private booth with a beach hut appeal and given colourful sombreros for the ultimate dinnertime accessory. All around and above, trails of tropical plants and Mexican memorabilia filled the room, and the ingenious cocktail menu on the table in front of us added a further dimension. Designed with interactive QR codes, the immersive menu aims to tickle the tastebuds while touring you around the map of Mexico. After browsing, scanning and watching videos about the different regions of Mexico, the leaflet doubled up as a great conversation starter and it swiftly switched us into holiday mode.

From the Chiapas Espresso Martini using local Mexican coffee beans to the Puebla Spritz infused with Pueblan Mezcal, their inviting selection of destination-inspired drinks is an innovative way to delight and surprise the palate. I started the evening with the Ciudad de México, a smooth and sweet Mexican-style Cosmopolitan topped with peach and cranberry foam. The tantalising zing of the candy pink cocktail matched the restaurant’s buzzy atmosphere and gave me a taste of Mexico City located over 5,000 miles away from where I was sitting.

Cocktails aside, one of the other impressive pages of the drinks list was the huge number of Tequila and Mezcal labels. With over 250 to choose from, Mezcalito Chelsea has the second-largest collection of Agave spirits in the UK. The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about this offering, and at one point throughout the meal, the friendly Restaurant Manager called Ulysses gave us a bespoke tasting session. It was interesting to learn more about the cooking and distilling techniques, as well as how the specific ageing processes create their distinctive flavours.

While the Agave-based drinks are Mezcalito’s speciality, the accompanying sharer style food menu gives you another flavour of Mexico. From freshly smashed guacamole and homemade tortilla chips to loaded nachos, tacos, quesadillas and more, we found that around three dishes per person is the ideal portion. I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of textures that were served, from the crunch of the Chicharrones, a Mezcalito twist on chilli-salted pork scratchings, to the battered fish tacos and the melt-in-the-mouth sirloin steak quesadillas with Patatas Mexicanas.

The vegetarian and vegan options were also plentiful, including wild mushroom tacos and fire-roasted red and Padron pepper quesadillas with vegan cheese, spring onions and guacamole. If I had more room to spare, the chocolate-filled churros and sweet plantain desserts looked like the best way to round off the inviting smorgasbord of Mexican cuisine.

As I stepped back onto Sydney Street, I felt pleasantly full of tropical tipples, tasty dishes and enthusiasm to come back for more. The Lakes at YOO

Sometimes it’s just great to escape the city to rest and recharge. And, if you don’t have the hassle of travelling too far, or taking a flight, it’s even better. Just an hour and a half from London and easily reached from most of the UK with good road and rail links nearly, The Lakes by YOO www.thelakesbyyoo.com is an ideal choice.

Nestled in an exclusive, gated-access only, 850-acre sustainable estate in the Cotswolds it’s a peaceful, private haven of beautifully crafted cabins, apartments and homes - all fronting a number of picturesque lakes.

With a choice of 1 to multi-bedroom cabins and apartments to choose from, it’s the perfect place for couples wanting a romantic break, families of all sizes and groups of friends, or even close colleagues too. All can enjoy time and treatments at the onsite spa with good sized indoor pool, an on-site café perfect for lake-side lattes, and a host of activities from paddleboarding to wildlife walks and plenty in between. It really is an idyllic retreat.

For our stay, we enjoyed one of the Grand Suites, a 3-bedroom apartment on the smaller Marley Lake costing from around £1,000 a night depending on time of year. These are within small 3 story blocks, conveniently very close to the main amenities – spa and also the coffee shop/restaurant.

On entering, you’re immediately struck with the glorious views from the floor to ceiling glass window and sliding door that fronts each apartment and open to a large balcony with dining and comfy seating areas. The perfect place to sit out at sun setting across the lake with a glass or three of champagne, and listen to the birds singing, and the cute ducks paddle by. Absolutely glorious.

The hallway leads to the main living open-plan space with a dining area one side, a kitchen area to the other and a lovely lounge space with wood burner with views out to the balcony and lake below. All are individually styled and ours was a treat – incredibly tasteful throughout and had a real home from home feel to it.

There are three good sized bedrooms, each with their own spacious bathroom and doors to a balcony too. The master looks out to the lake and the other two, the surrounding woodland. All are cosy, luxurious and comfortable, with just the sounds of ducks, geese and songbirds to pleasantly disturb. We stayed for just two nights, but honestly would have loved to extend this to at least a week.

Everything has been thought of too, to make your stay as convenient

and comfortable as possible. From a super welcome pack of eggs freshly laid by hens on the estate, to cake, locally produced smoked trout, jams, pastries and breads and juices, milk and a bottle of bubbly. Each day the breakfast items of your choice are delivered direct to your door.

In terms of dining, you can order in, or take the 5-minute walk to Elsa’s, where you can enjoy dishes of the day cooked to order. The local area has a number of posh gastro pubs and restaurants and we took the opportunity for lunch at the excellent The Fox at Oddington https:// thefoxatoddington.com/ , A 19th century inn with crackling log fires and a menu which celebrates local producers including its sister farms at Daylesford Organic and Wootton. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with views out to the pretty walled garden.

To work off our lunch we headed back to The Lakes for a long walk around the estate, through pretty woodland and lush wildflower rich meadows, an orchard and area with cute chickens and goats. It’s evident that sustainability is at the heart of everything they do at The Lakes, from the farm animals that have all been rescued, to rewilding, where areas of the estate are left to develop naturally and were guests and residents can enjoy its beauty and reconnect with nature.

The Lakes at YOO’s founder, John Hitchcox’s original vision was a Swallows and Amazons-style natural playground, somewhere safe for children to play, explore and build dens in the woods and they’ve never deviated from that plan. They maintain the estate in a highly natural way, and have planted around 500,000 trees, chipping any trees that come down to use the bark around the estate. Every September they even harvest the green tips on the yew trees beside The Spa and send them off to make life-saving cancer medication. These are just a few of the initiatives that contribute to their impressive sustainable vision.

If a short break isn’t enough, you can purchase homes on the estate.

Founder John Hitchcox told us since Covid and the resulting staycation boom, demand for properties at The Lakes by YOO has been consistently high. To meet this demand, they’ve partnered with Cygnet Investments to develop a neighbouring estate called The Lakes by YOO at Cotswolds Waters.

This will be is a new luxury development that will comprise 77 houses and 63 apartments – a really attractive proposition for buyers, as it is likely to be the last chance to buy a lakeside property on an estate of this kind in the country. Demand is high and all of Phase 1 has sold out recently.

Being just 90 minutes from West London gives families a quick and accessible option to escape the city for a weekend, or for longer during school holiday breaks. With hybrid working now also the norm, many residents use their properties as a place to both work and relax, making the estate even more vibrant during the week.

Most homes at The Lakes have been sold, however The Lakes recently launched 9 new bespoke Cabin properties featuring 2 bedrooms in a lakeside setting and 18 new apartments. There are usually a small number of existing houses being offered for sale by current owners, although these are in high demand, attracting wealthy city families to buy as an important lifestyle investment.

Pricing at the main estate starts at £1.5m. Of the 180 private homes on the estate, around twenty are available to rent for holidays or short breaks and start at £8,000 per week.

Over the past 15 years, the plot prices along with the re-sale market have both seen incredible capital growth. They are now averaging approx. £1,000 per sq ft across the estate. They originally began selling the homes at The Lakes for roughly £600,000 all in (plot and build). That equivalent house now would be priced at roughly £3m. Growth has also occurred on the rental rates. The apartments and houses now start at approx. £1,000 per night, which is at least 70% more than when they first began renting homes at the Lakes.

The price for a 2-bedroom apartment at The Lakes by YOO at Cotswolds Waters starts at £765,000. The 4- and 5-bedroom houses start at approximately £1.8m.

Works have already commenced, and the first properties will be available from 2023. Plans for the show home and show apartment are underway and it should be available soon.

Hotel du Vin, Winchester

A gorgeous little bolt hole right in the heart of historic Winchester, Hotel du Vin is the perfect cosy sanctuary after a busy day’s festive shopping.

Build in 1715, but lovingly reinvented, this bijou hotel features just 24 individually styled rooms and suites, a super cool bar, large sunny and sheltered terrace, and walled garden, and of course, its highly acclaimed bistro.

For our stay we were treated to the pretty in pastel blue and spacious Renault Suite. Facing the front of the hotel on the 2nd floor, you can just peak the world-famous Cathedral through large windows. There’s a seating area, fireplace, and modern bathroom. It’s all very calming and comfortable. There are a host of other suites and classic rooms too – including some alongside the terrace.

Whilst the rooms and suites are lovely, most people come to Hotel du Vin for excellent food and wine. And it doesn’t disappoint.

For pre-dinner drinks we ventured into Bar 20, a very nicely designed space and room for just enough people for it to be friendly and welcoming, instead of rowdy and impersonal. It’s a great find, and I’d visit again for cosy drinks with a couple of friends.

The main event is of course the restaurant, and an amazing tasting dinner paired with first rate wines was to be savoured. With high expectations and empty tummies, we were eager to enjoy, and the experience was even better than we’d hoped. Our Sommelier for the night was fantastic – super knowledgeable as you’d expect, and really had a passion for discovering lesser-known wines and seemed delighted to share this with us.

Waking up, we were fully prepared to just have fruit and coffee and pass on a hearty breakfast after dining so well the night before – that is until we spotted dishes of the most amazing full English pass by. It was fantastic. One of the best we’ve enjoyed in quite a while.

World Class Philadelphia For a major metropolitan area with a crucial role in America’s history, Philadelphia feels surprisingly small. However it makes up for this with beautiful parks and waterways, an abundant food scene, and enough art to make you dizzy.

The birthplace of the American Revolution might be the country’s second largest city, and is just 100 miles southwest of New York, but it has a more community feel. Nicknamed the City of Brotherly Love, getting a picture beside the infamous LOVE statue by Robert Indiana in Love Park near City Hall is essential; and if you are in town over new year, the Mummers Parade (which is often compared to the New Orleans Mardi Gras) is a massive carnival which involves more than 10,000 adults and children twirling, sashaying, pirouetting and strutting through the city’s main streets on January 1st where everyone is welcome

Complimenting the arts scene, the nightlife is just as vibrant. Check out the sophisticated rooftop bars in trendy Centre City, or if you’re looking to stay up a little later, lively Gayborhood is filled with cocktail bars, clubs and cabaret. Shoppers should check out Fishtown for cool boutiques, and stop at La Colombe Coffee shop for a “draft latte” - coffee-infused rum. Each neighbourhood has its own bar scene, but don’t be surprised to find that many restaurants offer a Bring Your Own Beer (BYOB )service due to Pennsylvania’s strict liquor laws. However, if you don’t need wine with your dinner, the Reading Terminal Market was once a railroad hangar, and is now a ginormous food hall selling every kind of street food imaginable. I would suggest doing a couple of circuits to get the idea of what’s on offer before making your choice, and if you have room for dessert, the classic butter-dipped pretzels and homemade Bassetts ice cream are heaven on earth.

Another custom synonymous with Philadelphia is the Philly Cheesesteak. Legend says it was invented during the depression by two brothers who owned a hot dog stand; running out of dogs one day, they realised the next best thing was grilled beef and onions, which proved just as popular, and later oozing melting cheese was added to the mix.

Arguably, John’s in South Philadelphia is the place to burst your cherry where you’ll join the queue of hungry tourists and locals who flock for a sub (you can snap up a veggie version too).

Whether you’re intrigued by Philly’s history, art or foodie scene, you can be assured it has a vibrant future too.

Food is a major draw for visitors to the city, and there are countless restaurants and pubs to enjoy the city’s eclectic cuisine, which comes from being such a cosmopolitan city. Head to the oldest pub, McGillin’s Olde Ale House, which was opened in 1860 by Irish immigrant McGillan; or the vibrant ChinaTown which is fronted by impressive Friendship Gates.

Offering Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Korean street food and restaurants, you can also do some serious shopping.

Closeby is Independence Hall, where the US founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and you can pre-book a tour. Opposite in landscaped gardens is a museum dedicated to the famous Liberty Bell. The bell no longer chimes, but you can see the cracked dome and original inscription, “proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof” which has become one of the most recognizable symbols of freedom in the world.

Another thing Philadelphians celebrate is art. You could lose yourself for days admiring the 4,000 commissioned murals which adorn the cityscape. Created under the Mural Arts Philadelphia programme, it promotes the message that art ignites change. It also offers art classes for prisoners and former prisoners and encourages them to contribute to public murals. Take a guided tour of the Mural Mile which will not only explain the history of the artworks, you can learn about the culture of various neighbourhoods.

From oversized artworks to Van Gogh’s diminutive Sunflowers, and a replica of Rodin’s The Thinker, the city is filled with galleries to feast your eyes. If classic Pissarros, Renoirs and Monets are your thing, head to the Philadelphia Museum of Art which also has a sculpture garden, Buddhist temple and rota of visiting exhibits; if you’re feeling energetic you can burn off some calories by re-enacting Sly Stone’s training routine in the Rocky films by nipping (or walking) up the 76 steps at its back entrance (or perhaps you’d just prefer a picture by his lifesize statue at their foot).

Whilst the Barnes Foundation is smaller, but no less impressive. The current location is an almost exact replica of collector Albert C. Barnes’ manor house, which relocated to its prime spot on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in 2012. An avid collector, every inch of wall space is bursting with a kaleidoscope of colours, which are showcased not by genre, artist or chronology, but by form, style and colour with Picassos, Matisses and Cézannes rubbing shoulders with iron sculptures and everyday objects made by unknown artists.

Isaiah Zagar, is another Philadelphia legend. As a living mosaic artist, he uses day-to-day objects like cracked ceramics, broken bottles, mirror fragments, handmade tiles, misshapen bicycle wheels and knick-knacks to create living art. His “Magic Garden” on South Street, is an art environment that he began in 1994 and is now a non profit immersive

Just a speedboat ride from the bustle of the international airport, yet way out into the peaceful blue, Naladhu is renowned for its exclusivity, privacy and being the quintessential luxury Maldivian escape.

Inside, in addition to the fantastic bathrooms, each has a dressing area, hallway with wine fridge, Nespresso machine and so on, leading to a large, high ceilinged bedroom opening out to a very large deck, with

gazebo eating area and spacious roofed section with double-bed swing where you can relax in the shade during the heat of the day. The pool can be accessed from the deck too. Having large outdoor covered areas is such a benefit in the Maldives. Many resorts’ villas just don’t have enough, and means there’s no respite from searing sun or occasional tropical downpours unless you stay inside.

If you can pull yourself away from your villa, Naladhu has a lovely main pool area, gym and excellent restaurant ‘The Living Room’ with beach and lagoon views, and half way around the island are gorgeous powder-soft white sand beaches. The island’s interior is very pretty too – sandy paths take you through frangipani and jasmine scented gardens full of all kinds of tropical flowers.

Although a private island, there is a gated walkway which takes you over lagoon to the neighbouring Anatara Veli resort popular with honeymooners. Only Naladhu guests can return through the gate to their resort though. This walkway is a great place to watch the stars at night, and rainbow coloured parrot and other reef fish swim by during the day.

Dining wise, half way across the walkway is a fantastic Thai restaurant.

Here you can sit in the moonlight and watch fish, and listen to the sounds of the reef. The dishes are delicious and generous and there’s a great choice. You can also head on to Veli and Anantara Dighu too, and enjoy their culinary , entertainment, sports, excursions and spa offerings also, and of course experience romantic destination dining, or

enjoy delicious cuisine in the privacy and comfort of your own villa.

Heritance Aarah

For a stress-free luxurious Maldives break, Heritance Aarah is a perfect choice. Located in the Raa Atoll, it’s a 40-minute seaplane hop from the new terminal at the International Airport in Male.

From the moment you arrive at the jetty, you’re whisked off to a quick and seamless check in and on to your villa, in our case, one of their premium offerings, an Ocean Suite. The buggy ride gave a whirlwind scenic tour of the island, which is large in Maldives terms. Past the overwater spa, white-washed pretty beach villas nestled in tropical gardens, a beach-side fish restaurant, over water Maldives cuisine dining option, large infinity pool and on to one of two long villa strewn jetties where our two-story villa was located.

Ocean Suites have a kind of Swiss chalet look about them, and are quite an unusual design as over-water Maldives villas go. They are high ceilinged and have gabled overhangs and are a refreshing change from the more typical thatched affairs you see on most resorts. Slip inside and you’ll find a hallway, handy mini-kitchen area and large lounge and bathroom, with views and access out to the spacious deck area and large heated private infinity pool. Upstairs there’s a large bedroom, another bathroom, and doors to a rather cute tiny balcony with just enough room to sit two, overlooking the deck, pool, and turquoise sea below.

They are very nicely presented, practical and pleasingly furnished, and were also thoughtfully fragranced with gorgeous incense each day which was a lovely touch.

One of the main draws for visitors to the Maldives is to have their own private pool, and the ones at the Ocean Suites certainly don’t disappoint.

Large, heated, jutting out over the ocean they are practical in that you can walk into them thanks to nice shallow steps, and there’s a kind of seat area at the far side too. It’s very easy to spend hours here, glass of champagne in hand, relaxing watching all sorts of marine life swim by – including large rays and baby blacktip sharks.

Talking of champagne, one of the reasons for this resort’s popularity is

its excellent all-inclusive package. This includes champagne at restaurants and bars, as well as many premium brand spirits and good quality wines. Your villas come with their own stock of 8 varieties in a special wine fridge, which are replenished daily, and guests can select two bottles of spirits too. The package includes all meals and snacks and even in-villa dining, perfect if a storm passes by and you just want to relax in the dry and watch a movie. And there’s what the resort calls the 3 Cs. ice cream, candy, and cocktails available from the Naughty Carts which roam the island each day.

Dining, there’s many excellent options covering buffets, a la carte, and even fine dining. We were really impressed by the latter which was located close to us on opposite the Ocean Suite/ adults only infinity pool and bar. The presentation and tastes were impressive and the location lovely. They have a pianist who is incredibly talented and can easily play most requests.

The all-inclusive package also features several complimentary excursions such as a sunset or dolphin cruise or night fishing, from a choice of 2 upwards, depending on the length of your stay. And there’s all sorts of non-motorised water sports to choose from.

There is also a very good over-water spa that offers a wide range of traditional spa and beauty therapies such as massages and manicures, as well as medical non-invasive procedures such as micro-needling, skin peels and even non-surgical facelifts. There are nutritionists and trainers on site for wellness and fitness programs.

It’s always wonderful when the place you choose to stay at exceeds all expectations. The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is one of these elusive treasures.

Located in the Baa Atoll, within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this perfect Maldivian jewel is the place to create cherished memories and deeply re-connect as a couple, family or group of friends. Your journey to paradise will start with a 35-minute sea plane hop, treating you to a birds’-eye view of the incredible reefs, atolls and ocean of every shades of blue below. On arrival you’ll be greeted by some of the resorts’ welcoming staff, who go above and beyond to help you in every possible way. One of the first things to strike you is the resort’s intriguing infrastructure. Peia Associati’s architects drew inspiration from Maldivian fauna to create a gorgeous white spiral staircase that resembles the inside of a shell, arrival jetty a clam, villa roofs like turtle shells and reception area and kids’ club majestic manta rays and whale sharks.

This resort has a strong focus on wellness, and cites its 6 key pillars as Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Play Well and Work Well.

You will certainly experience the first five, and even possibly the last, as it’s actually a super place to work remotely from, and some of the villas have an office space - albeit with the most incredible not to mention distracting ocean views.

The island is small, lush and very, very pretty, with beds of colourful flowers and pathways of palms and tropical plants, including those which fill the air with the most wonderful fragrance at night. You can stroll around it all in just 15-20 minutes – that is if you don’t get easily distracted spotting turtles, shoals of rainbow fish, flying foxes, dolphins or pretty white terns on route. At certain times of the year you’ll also spot hordes of dragonflies patrolling the skies on their world-record worth long migration from India to Africa. The beach villas are tucked away among the foliage and all face out to the beach, whilst the over water villas are reached via jetties – also great places to fish watch. We really appreciated unlike so many Maldives’ resorts, here you don’t have constant bikes, golf buggies and shuttles zooming past – it’s compact enough to not need them to get around and makes for a much more relaxed and peaceful vibe.

Our stay was one of the wonderful Heavenly Overwater Villas with

pool. Having stayed at lots of resorts, the overwater villas at The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo are among the absolute best. Modern, spacious and beautifully designed, they are elegant, comfortable and in all ways exceptional, from the quality of the furnishings to the floor to ceiling villa wide view of the ocean they provide. Everything is just so tasteful, yet practical too and they are fitted with all mod cons as well as neat touches such as sliding doors enabling to you section off parts of the villa if wished to use to do some work in, a juice press with bowl of oranges so you can sqeeze and enjoy your own fresh juice when waking up, to inside and outside showers, and a huge deck area with a deep roof overhang to provide much needed shade and shelter from the sharp showers and storms that can flit by. The Heavenly Beds were fantastic.

We achieved several full-night’s sleep here – which as insomniacs, was such a bonus and relief to wake each day refreshed and ready to explore.

We did indulge in plenty of star gazing here too though – the dark clear skies reveal an unrivalled view of countless stars, plus the planets and even the Space Station passing by. Sitting out on deck is the perfect place to while away many hours, relaxing with a glass of champagne, watching countless fish and pods of dolphins swim and spin by. The infinity pools at these villas are excellent too – large and long and deep enough to enable you to actually have a swim.

If you can tear yourself away from these exceptional villas, there’s plenty of delights to enjoy. You can sample delicious dining in all of the restaurants, relax at the large main pool or beautiful beach, relax at the wellness spa, snorkel, dive, play tennis, enjoy a wide choice of water sports and take a sunset dolphin cruise - something we highly recommend.

Dining wise, this is another area this wonderful resort excels at. There are four unique dining options, each presenting distinctive cuisine in beautiful surroundings. Our favourite, The Pearl, is perched on a short jetty high above the sea and offers diners a refined Japanese menu with a seafood focus. It’s an interior design masterpiece and ever so romantic. You can relax with a pre-dinner drink and watch the sun set from here and listen to the waves rustle below. The dishes, including those on the amazing tasting menus are exquisite and can be paired with an excellent choice of wines. There’s also Island Kitchen, which showcases healthy, international dishes. Hawker, a colourful bar and restaurant serving authentic Asian street food in a bare-foot-in-the-sand beachside setting, and the Sunset Bar for its laid-back vibe, tree top sunset view, masterfully mixed cocktails and tapas.

We really enjoyed the ice cream shop too – a cute and cool haven from the heat of the day, serving freshly made popsicles of almost every flavour you could imagine, and accompanying decadent sauces. A favourite for adults and children alike!

Coming to the Maldives just wouldn’t be the same without experiencing some water sports. From being in the perfect location, to the right size, the best villas, the most welcoming and helpful staff who all seem to genuinely love what they do, to amazing cuisine, endless activities, peace and quiet yet a friendly and inviting vibe. Well only that if you want a full sea view, some of the beach villas are tucked behind lush vegetation and don’t really enable this, and some are quite close together so you can hear your next door neighbours. Jade Mountain

Enviably located on the western coast of St Lucia, Jade Mountain perches high above Anse Chastanet Bay within a 600 acres tropical resort estate, and overlooking the famous Piton mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you’ve not been to St Lucia before, the hour drive from Hewanorra International Airport gives you an instant flavour of just how pretty and lush the island is – in start contrast to many others in the Caribbean.

As the roads snake around mountains you catch tantalising glimpses of palm-fringed coves, quaint villages and yacht-filled harbours below and grand pastel painted villas nestling above among lush gardens and tropic forests.

As you climb you catch your first sight of the Pitons which rise steep and high out of the sea, a reminder of St Lucia’s volcanic past. Jade Mountain is the only resort with views of both, sometimes each capped with a cloud.

To reach the resort you leave tarmac and travel on a rather bone-rattling dirt road to reach the main Estate entrance where you’re then whisked up to Jade Mountain reception. Stepping on to the towering bridges which connect each villa and restaurant and bar areas you can really see just how incredible and unique this resort is. A design masterpiece and product of Troubetzkoy’s award-winning architecture, built totally in harmony with its natural surroundings.

There are 24 luxurious sanctuary suites. Sun, Moon, Star and Galaxy Suites boast grand sweeping spaces and extravagantly sized private infinity pools. And the lower down Sky Suites feature a two-level room layout, with a raised Jacuzzi tub. Each is unique and juts out away from the mountainside, most reached only by its own walkway. This provides both peace and privacy – making it a firm honeymoon favourite.

You will be assigned your own major domo too, to cater for your every need, whether that’s to book an excursion, a spa treatment, a resort shuttle or delicious late night dessert to enjoy in bed!

As you open the door, nothing quite prepares you for what’s inside. The suites are incredibly spacious, and open plan, with a dining area leading to a sleeping area with netted four poster bed at the far side, and lounge space in front, raised bathroom and an amazing large private infinity pool. What really sets this resort apart from others is how the suites

are completely open at the front – there is no wall or windows, just an honestly breathtaking view of the Pitons, lush mountains and forests and sea below. The wow-factor is undeniable.

This also means you have no air-conditioning, just large fans, but generally there is a cooling breeze. Here you really feel at one with nature too – songbirds and cheeky tropical starlings join you in the pool, and sneak your breakfast, and at night, large bat-sized beautiful moths flit around, and the sound of the forest’s insects and frogs at night is astonishing. If you’re a star gazer, there surely can’t be many places more ideal resort wise, as you can watch the moon rise and set above the Pitons and light up your room with a magical silver glow, and countless stars in the clear dark sky. I made full use of my SkyView app which helps you to identify constellations and stars.

One night all the local area had a power cut, and, being so warm, even in the early hours, having the pool right in your room was perfect for a cooling moonlit dip, gazing out across the sea and majestic huge shadowy Pitons watching shooting stars above to the cicada-like song of the forest’s nocturnal inhabitants. It was truly magical and memorable.

If you can tear yourself away from your sanctuary, Jade Mountain has a wonderful restaurant serving excellent international cuisine and private dining is available in a number of locations including on the Celestial Terrace. The restaurant shares the incredible Piton views and the terrace is the perfect place to relax, enjoy cocktails and watch the sunset in a blaze of amber and gold across the sea. This is also a matchless place to star gaze from too as it has 360 views.

The resort also has a spa offering a range of excellent treatments, fitness centre and even a chocolate factory. Plus you can also take advantage of sister resort Anse Chastanet’s restaurants, bars, boutiques, art gallery, scuba, bike, watersports and two soft sand beaches, You can simply walk down from your suite or call for a resort shuttle (very handy for the steep walk back!). We appreciate the fact there are no children under the age of 15, so no troublesome toddlers disturbing the peace.

We recommend you book an afternoon’s sailing where you can enjoy snorkelling too, and a sunset sail as to see the Pitons and the resort and island from the water is really quite special. Also if you’re fit and feeling super energetic, enjoy a hike up one of the Pitons where you’ll be able to

gaze down on the resort and get a bird’s eye view of your suite. Plus, close by is the quaint local town, unique and impressive Drive-in Volcano (pretty pungent as the name suggests!), and our favourites, a local chocolate estate and also a pretty botanical gardens with hummingbirds galore, and Sulphur Springs mud baths.

The Splendour of Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia has it all – beautiful beaches, lush, spectacular tropical countryside, fascinating history, incredible natural wonders, super cuisine and welcoming people and world-class luxury resorts. Here are some highlights to enjoy: Majestic Pitons A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Saint Lucia Pitons are a spectacular sight. They are two huge, imposing and steep volcanic plugs towering almost 3,000 feet above sea level next to the small town of Soufrière. If you stay at the wonderful Jade Mountain luxury resort you’ll enjoy an amazing view of them right from your open front sanctuary suite, or you can explore them by hiking up (if you’re pretty fit!) or sailing around them.

Drive in Volcano Yes – you read that right. Saint Lucia is home to the world’s only drive-in volcano. It’s just a few minutes away from Soufrière and you can literally drive in to the heart of this dormant volcano and then walk within meters of the bubbling and steaming springs with a tour guide. A not to be missed experience when visiting the island – if a little stinky!

And do enjoy a dip in the Sulphur Springs mud baths here too – famous for their reputed healing properties.

Botanical Gardens with Diamond Falls & Thermal Springs Near the volcano and Soufrière are the beautiful Botanical Gardens and Saint Lucia’s famous mud baths. Here you can meander through shady tropical flower-fringed paths and watch rainbow coloured hummingbirds zip by. Enjoy a dip in the thermal springs you’ll arrive at and continue on to view the very pretty Diamond Falls.

Rodney Bay A cruise ship and yachties favourite, Rodney Bay is a vibrant and culture-rich town with unique markets, shopping malls, restaurants, and bars all just 10 minutes away from the Harbor Club hotel. Here you can spend the day marvelling at the wonderful array of souvineers hand crafted by local artisans, sunbathe at beautiful Reduit Beach, enjoy a fantastic waterside lunch at the excellent Coal Pot restaurant, and once the sun goes down, watch the sun set in one of the many bars with great harbourside views.

Sail Away Saint Lucia is a yachting mecca and it’s easy to see why. Being on the water provides some of the most stunning views of the island including the majestic Pitons which tower above you. And you can anchor off here and there for a spot of snorkelling on some pristine local reefs. Many resorts offer daytime or sunset cruises and it’s something we’d highly recommend.

Pigeon Island Pigeon Island National Landmark is one of Saint Lucia’s most important historical monuments. A living museum, it’s home to several distinct attractions, military buildings including a fort, and stunning beaches.

Diving & Snorkelling Last but certainly not least… Saint Lucia offers over 22 world-class dive sites and excellent snorkelling spots. There’s incredible biodiversity as well as exciting wreckages to explore.

Located in the beautiful Rodney Bay area of St Lucia, the Harbor Club is a lively, stylish, and ideally located base for experiencing all this most picturesque of Caribbean islands has to offer.

The long, winding but scenic drive from the airport gives wonderful views of colourful local villages, lush tropical forest and mountains and the glistening turquoise sea below. We marvelled at just how green and unspoilt the island is outside the small urban areas.

The hotel sits at the heart of Rodney Bay marina, frequented by mega yachts and small sail and powerboats all drawn by the area’s charm.

You enter the hotel and can walk through to an expansive pool deck featuring four full-size swimming pools, pool bar with two-story viewing deck, and private cabanas - all offering stunning views of the harbour.

There are 115 rooms and suites. Featuring a casually elegant nautical-inspired design each room is well-appointed with modern tech and high-end amenities. For a truly elevated resort, experience one of the 8 our Swim-up Rooms which feature private pools.

Our room was one of these fantastic Swim Up suites which, situated on the ground floor, has sliding doors which open directly out to a small terrace where you can just step straight into a pool. This is great as you don’t have to walk through public areas of the hotel to enjoy a cooling dip.

The main pool area is very nicely designed, with lovely harbour views and tropical plants and palms. Having several different size and styled pools means there’s one to suit all – from shallower for children to one large enough to play ball. There’s plenty of loungers too and you can simply relax and enjoy cocktails expertly mixed at the pool bar.

It has a rather cool beach-club vibe and comes alive in the evening too where you can often enjoy a local band and even dance the night away under the stars if you wish. The pool area has lovely views of the sunset too, so is a super place for a sundowner.

Dining wise, there’s a good choice from more informal – tasty pizzas and so on, to an elegant experience. Julia’s is an elevated comfort cuisine concept, offering air-conditioned indoor or relaxed outdoor seating, overlooking the swimming pool and the Marina where you can choose from international and local flavours.

14° North is the perfect place for Asian-Caribbean Fusion cuisine.

Perched on the sixth floor it overlooks the marina in a modern yet comfortable setting. We enjoyed particularly delicious meals here and it appeared the ideal place for celebrating a special occasion too.

For those with a sweet tooth, there’s the Swiss-inspired 7th Heaven Bakery that’s enjoyed by hotel guests and also many locals. Their Swisstrained chefs bake fresh artisanal breads and pastries every single day.

And there’s Market Street Sushi too offering fresh sushi made to order by expert Chef Ricardo. Finally, the Dockside Pizzeria, and the poolside Harbor Bar serving amazing cocktails and a cool ambiance.

A Feast for the Senses at Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives Emily Williams travels to Atmosphere Kanifushi to celebrate the all-new JUST VEG menu at the first vegetarian restaurant in the Maldives There is no other place on earth that paints a picture of paradise quite like the Maldives, and a trip of a lifetime deserves an equally extraordinary culinary experience. While most resorts offer a Ferris wheel of unlimited international buffets, fine dining restaurants and laidback beach bar fare, Atmosphere Kanifushi on the Lhaviyani Atoll stands heads and shoulders above the rest.

As I sit down in the ocean-facing JUST VEG restaurant illuminated by a kaleidoscope of Moroccan lamps and delve into an array of vibrant dishes, my eyes widen with surprise as each mouthful opens up a new pocket of delicious flavours. From the light and refreshing cherry tomato gazpacho with avocado pesto, melon sorbet and coconut sauce, to the tangy Taleggio cheese foam complemented with pear syrup, hazelnut and earthy black truffle, the nutritious ingredients are cooked in ingenious ways to invigorate the tastebuds and spark conversation.

There’s no denying that travelling to the Maldives is an epic expedition from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, but dining at JUST VEG is a whole sensory journey of its own. Rooting back to a culinary collaboration that launched in 2014 between Atmosphere Kanifushi and the talented Italian Chef Fabrizio Marino, the partnership has grown from strength to strength, while overcoming the hurdles of long-distance and time zones. In their eighth consecutive year, the team succeeded yet again in launching this year’s menu after earning international accolades including the ‘top restaurant in the Maldives’ on TripAdvisor.

Chef Fabrizio’s long-standing involvement with JUST VEG is a testament to the welcoming feel of Atmosphere Kanifushi and its commitment to high-quality cuisine across all of its restaurants. Fabrizio describes the resort as his second home after watching it evolve throughout the years. ‘Every time I come to Kanifushi, there’s a kind of aura that’s very close to me. The quality of life here is unmatched for a chef and for all the guests who visit’. He explains that despite his different cultural background, the team communicates through food as their shared language. Both parties share a passion for creating cutting-edge vegetarian dishes, using a fusion of culinary techniques across Europe and Asia. To celebrate the menu’s relaunch, Fabrizio shares an annual meal on the kitchen floor with the team in the true spirit of Maldivian tradition.

Other highlights on the all-new menu are the marinated, smoked and roasted eggplant steak, with its complex umami taste; and the chef’s personal favourite, the risotto with sour butter, toasted walnuts and green herb extract. The entire feast is a riot of colour, aroma and exquisite presentation, which is why many vegetarian and meat-eating guests decide to return multiple times during their stay. Through sheer imagination, skill and creative flair, Fabrizio and the Atmosphere team create an exciting palate that makes you forget that it is all ‘just veg’.

Pioneering cuisine requires an innovative drink pairing, and so The Lantern Bar opposite the restaurant will soon be serving Ayurvedic aperitifs, including a hibiscus flower lemonade that helps with heartburn, anti-oxidising aloe vera juice, and cilantro buttermilk to soothe stomach acidity. This is yet another example of Atmosphere Kanifushi’s trailblazing offering, which goes the extra mile to provide memorable experiences that guests feel compelled to text home about.

While taste, smell and texture are all important elements that tie into Atmosphere Kanifushi’s feast for the senses, let’s not forget the sights and sounds that make the resort so unique. One of the highlights of my time spent on this 2km-long castaway island was exploring the tropical flora and fauna that thrives across the resort on a private nature tour.

From learning about the medicinal eye-cleansing properties of Sea Lettuce to spotting a gull chick nesting among the strangler figs, the sandy aisles are lined with a diverse ecosystem that enriches all who connect with it. To round off the fascinating eco-tour, I was able to

share Atmosphere Resort’s ‘joy of giving’ ethos by planting a coconut tree on the beach. It was a poignant and uplifting way to give back to the environment that Atmosphere Kanifushi works tirelessly to protect and promote.

At the Akiri Spa by Mandala, the highly trained therapists invite you to realign the body and mind with an indulgent menu of personalised massage treatments. Harnessing the therapeutic properties of essential oils, my full-body Balinese massage coaxed me into a deep state of relaxation, while relieving all tension and improving the lymphatic system.

But Atmosphere Kanifushi’s heavenly assortment of jet lag antidotes did not end there. Days later, I returned to the spa’s open-air pavilion for a restorative sound healing session, and as I lay beneath a soft towel and a weighted eye mask, I fell once again into a meditative trance, listening to the reverberating sounds of gongs, crystal bowls and the rhythmic Indian Ocean. This was peace at a whole new frequency, and I felt truly in sync with the calming pace of island time.

For adventure-seeking travellers who prefer to busy themselves with a range of high-energy pursuits, this island offers so much more sun, sea and sand. From the luxuriously appointed 172 water and beach villas, guests can catch a buggy or cycle on push bikes along the central sand pathway to partake in a variety of activities. Morgan Plus Four & Plus Six In line with its philosophy of continual evolution, Morgan Motor Company is reimagining its Plus Four and Plus Six models. The enhancements, which are being introduced as part of a formal recognition of a new ‘Plus’ line, will feature on all Plus Four and Plus Six models from January 2023.

The name ‘Plus’ signifies a mainstay of Morgan production, and sits alongside the newly introduced ‘Super’ pillar. The nameplate was first witnessed on the Plus 4, introduced in 1950. Plus represents more than 70 years of heritage, yet looks firmly to the future, embracing relevant new technology and reimagining the experience of a modern, handcrafted sports car for the 21st Century.

Coach-built on the company’s lightweight CX-Generation bonded aluminium platform, the design of Plus models is timeless and enduring. Plus Four, with its slightly narrower body and wire wheels, is more akin to the original vehicles in its aesthetic. Plus Six, which is wider with a more assertive appearance, presents a more contemporary aesthetic. Both vehicles will benefit from the new features, and their list of options and configurations will be closely aligned, ensuring a cohesive tailoring experience for customers.

Interior aesthetic The enhancements to the company’s latest Plus models are headlined by significant changes to the interior, offering greater levels of refinement, further personalisation opportunities, and increased usability over earlier generations.

The introduction of a new range of marquetry veneers, which extend through the vehicle via its centre console, reinforce the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and bespoke tailoring, celebrating the natural materials, design, and form, synonymous with the Morgan marque.

A new superformed aluminium dashboard and instrument panel can be specified in matte silver, matte black or matched to body colour, and a model designation can now be specified on the passenger side of the dashboard. The dashboard is home to new instruments which feature new face artwork. The instrument artwork is simplified and draws inspiration from premium timepieces, exuding a minimal and clutter-free aesthetic. In addition to the new instrument artwork, a new LCD information display screen has been incorporated into the dashboard design. Situated directly in front of the driver, the screen is larger than the previous screen, and has increased resolution. Updated screen graphics with enhanced animation, and the introduction of driving mode dependant backdrops, help to improve usability for drivers. The screen is subtle and displays strictly necessary information, continuing the company’s philosophy of appropriately introducing technology into its vehicles.

A solid wooden lower rail coordinates with the centre column and is situated beneath the aluminium dashboard. Configurable in a range of finishes and colours, each wooden section is meticulously hand crafted by Morgan’s skilled craftspeople. Beneath the wooden lower rail is a new glovebox, a feature introduced for the first time on a Plus model. The glovebox is trimmed in matching leather, and houses USB power sockets inside.

The steering wheel is now available with a satin polished centre section. When specified, this finish coordinates with other internal embellishers including the speaker grille, door handle, handbrake, and gear shift surrounds.

Two-tone fabric, which contrasts on the seats and door cards, offers a mix of textures and has been designed specifically for the latest Plus models. Black pebble grain leather and black fabric is specified as standard, with a further six colourways and leather grains optional.

Woven from worsted wool using fine marl yarns, the natural textile embraces a purity of composition. Each fabric is paired with a complimentary leather colourway, ensuring leather is used sparingly, celebrating it as a fine material.

Redefined door cards provide the base for a curated range of twotone fabric options – introduced for the first time on a Morgan fourwheeled model – and Sennheiser branded speaker grilles (when specified with Sennheiser audio system).

A new ‘bolt-action’ door handle, situated on the lower section of the door, is the most notable change to the door interior. Created from lacquered stainless steel and high-quality saddle leather, it provides a material and aesthetic uplift, whilst introducing a lasting mechanical sensation for occupants exiting the vehicle.

Both the standard and Comfort Plus seat options benefit from myriad enhancements. The headrest on both seat variants has undergone a full redesign, and now displays a slimmer aesthetic featuring intricate stitch detailing. The Comfort Plus seat now features an adjustable thigh bolster and knurled metal recline adjustment lever. In another first for Morgan’s four-wheeled models, new Plus models now feature an optional integrated cup holder, which is detachable and fits into the base of the passenger seat.

Engaging vehicle dynamics Above all else, a Morgan sports car should be lightweight, exciting to drive, and offer a unique connection between driver and machine.

Morgan’s in-house engineering teams have worked with industry leading external partners to ensure the continual dynamic evolution of Plus models. Throughout this process, the key principles of the Morgan driving experience have remained paramount, alongside requirements for future technology, safety, and legislative requirements.

Dynamic enhancements to Plus models are headlined by the introduction of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and all-new braking system, developed alongside Continental and AP Racing. ESC will be introduced on all Plus Four and Plus Six models. Mode-dependent, the ESC has been tuned for each model and gearbox variant, and can be switched between levels of assistance depending on driving mode.

The AP Racing braking system is all-new and has been developed alongside the ESC programme to deliver high-performance braking.

Bespoke gearbox calibrations have been developed, in partnership with BMW, for the automatic variant of Plus Four and Plus Six models respectively. Gearbox calibrations receive further intelligence and are integrated deeper into the vehicle, adapting to feedback from control systems throughout.

In ‘normal’ driving mode, four calibrations will adapt gear shifting based on brake pressure and steering angle. In ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport+’ modes, a further four calibrations, programmed to be more dynamic, will adapt gear shifting, also based on brake pressure and steering angle.

New hill detection uses an accelerometer and driver torque demand to automatically select a lower gear for steep inclines. In addition to aiding drivability and increasing performance, the new calibrations also deliver an increase in efficiency.

The addition of new suspension dampers and bushes completes the dynamic enhancements to Plus models. The new bush rating will deliver further refinement over low-frequency road undulations, whilst the new dampers improve ride compliance, progressive rate, and high-speed performance.

Regular attendees and first-timers alike will meander through hundreds of the world’s finest cars from yesteryear across the weekend. And, that’s not all! The London Classic Car Show has given a sneak peek into what to expect by revealing two of its special displays.

The first will honour 60 years of the evergreen Porsche 911, featuring an eye-catching collection of evolving 911s from the original air-cooled Type 901 launched at the Frankfurt Show in 1963, to the latest Type 992 supercars.

The second will put the spotlight on Barn-Finds and Survivors, providing a fascinating insight into the uncovering and restoration of recently discovered relics. Here visitors will get up close and personal with hidden motoring treasures everyone will be lusting after.

With more to be announced in the coming weeks, The London Classic Car Show is sure to excite all motorsport fans, big and small. The range of exhibits and hotly debated panel discussions (such as re-engineering existing classics with electric propulsion) ensure there’s something for every generation to strap in and enjoy.

Back in the iconic Olympia venue following Covid-19 restrictions on indoor events last year, temporarily moving the event to Syon Park in June 2021, The London Classic Car Show is glad to be under the magnificent Victorian, barrel-vaulted roof once again.
