Howdy! Creating community through people, parks, and programs. This is more than just a mission statement; it’s what our staff has devoted their careers to doing in Harker Heights. We care about Harker Heights and are honored to provide our residents with quality recreation programs, well maintained parks and trails, and open space lands to fly kites, play catch, or just relax. Expanded to include both the Fall and Winter seasons, this issue of ‘Heights Happenings’ will offer you a detailed look at how you can make the most of the recreational opportunities offered throughout the year here in Harker Heights. The people in Harker Heights are what make this community special. There’s no better way to build community than by participating in one of the many opportunities provided by Harker Heights Parks and Recreation, the Harker Heights Library, and anyone else committed to improving the quality of life through recreation. Be sure to say hi when you see us at one of our parks or programs; we look forward to meeting you! Sincerely,
Jeff Achee
