I’m Kelly Doneth, owner/photographer at Kelly Doneth Photography. I am a full-service boutique senior photographer that have been in business for over a decade. As a client, you’ll recieve a custom experience with superb services and products of the highest quality. I value each girl I work with, from our first chat about wardrobe styling to presenting her with gorgeous images.
My initial goal, which is first and foremost throughout my work, is connecting with my clients. I want to develop a sense of their own personal style and preferences, while establishing trust in my process for understanding their vision. I have such enthusiasm and enjoyment for my art, and my intention is to get my clients just as excited about their entire experience!
I absolutely love helping style my clients - it’s one of my favorite parts of my job! I keep up with current fashion trends, but also adore classic styling concepts. YOUR style is my focus - I want to help you create a look that you LOVE because inner confidence will always showcase your outer beauty, and that will be reflected in your images. My goal is to shoot a total package that highlights the essence of who your are. I intend to create an EXPERIENCE for you to remember, just as much as the final photo product!

You’ve waited so long for this—your senior year! The senior portrait experience is a significant milestone, and I’m here to ensure it’s nothing short of amazing for you.
WHAT TO WEAR
This is your day to shine and be YOU—to tell your story! Your clothing will reflect who you are, so choose outfits you love and feel great in. During the shoot, we’ll photograph you in three different outfits. It’s up to you whether you want to stick with a consistent style or showcase three distinct looks!

QUICK TIPS
LAYERING
Layers are perfect for sectioning off your body. Try color blocking or mixing patterns to emphasize curves.
JACKETS
A mid-thigh or short fitted jacket gives your form a slender and polished appearance.
BOLD PATTERNS
Wear bold patterns to accentuate your favorite assests.
LONG DRESSES & MAXI SKIRTS
A long dress or skirt is an instant leg lengthener and waist-tightener.
EMPIRE WAIST
An empire waist is a perfect way to either accentuate your curves or give you more curves.
PICKING COLORS
Choose colors that you look good in and flatter your skin tone. If you have dark hair, avoid dark tops that blend together. Stay away from too much black and/or too much white. Try to avoid neon tops because they can cast a color on your face.
FORM FITTING
Wear clothes that are form fitting and not too loose or baggy. Look for clothes that have structure and go in at the waist. These shapes generally look best.
ACCESSORIZE
Accessories can polish and complete a look. Hats, blankets, glasses, pom poms, soccer balls, and purses can all add personality to your pictures. Look for inspiration for your photo shoot online, in magazines, and on Pinterest. Dress appropriately for the kind of shoot you want. If you want an outdoorsy session, wear clothes that are flowy and fun. Pair your outfits with sandals, boots, or flats. If you want downtown urban, wear a formal dress with heels, a cute skirt, or a beanie with a pair of Converse.

Each client will have exclusive access to the closet that is full of “Kelly Approved” styling and are welcome to borrow as little or as much as desired.

HAIR AND MAKEUP
PREP TIPS FOR PERFECT SENIOR PICS
A WEEK BEFORE THE SHOOT
Get your hair colored touched up or trimmed. Shape your eyebrows for a clean look. If you choose to get a spray tan, keep it light.
3-5 DAYS BEFORE THE SHOOT
Exfoliate your skin to achieve a smooth complexion. Exfoliate your lips for a soft, hydrated look.
THE DAY BEFORE THE SHOOT
Moisturize your skin and drink plenty of water for a healthy glow. Paint your nails a neutral, timeless color.
THE DAY OF THE SHOOT
Have your hair washed and fully dried. Bring examples of hair and makeup to your appointment. Wear a loose button-up shirt for easy removal during hair and makeup. Bring lip gloss (even clear) for touch-ups during the shoot.
ON LOCATION
DURING YOUR SHOOT
In addition to professional hair and makeup styling for your shoot, my makeup artist is available to join us on location for an additional fee! This gives us the opportunity to switch up your looks and keep your hair and makeup perfect and fresh for the duration of your shoot.
Many clients’ favorite hair looks are a classic blowout, beach waves, sweet braids, and a high pony. We also love to switch up lip and blush colors to compliment styling. Our “mobile salon” is a perfect way to elevate your milestone photoshoot!

TWO - THREE WEEKS
BEFORE YOUR SHOOT
I like to meet with my clients for a clothing consultation. At the meeting in the Style Loft, we will go over the outfits you have chosen and discuss in detail. This is optional, but recommended.

This is a good time to talk about your session and discuss location.
ONE WEEK BEFORE YOUR SHOOT
Remember to be conscious about your sun exposure to avoid dark tan lines and burnt skin. Be sure to drink lots of water to stay hydrated the days before your shoot.
PHOTO SHOOT TIME
2 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SHOOT
Remember to wear a loose-fitting button-up shirt for easy removal after your hair and makeup are complete. Bring all of your clothes steamed and ready for your photo shoot. Also, remember to eat before our shoot together - we will cover a lot of ground with little time to snack.

I liked how interactive the whole experience was. Kelly seemed very passionate about my photos the entire shoot, which brought so much positive energy. I also loved the individual creativity you could add to your shoot. You were able to adjust outfits, makeup, and poses to your liking with professionaladvice from Kelly. Overall my experience was amazing and I am lucky to have experienced that opportunity.
HOW DID YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR SENIOR SESSION (STYLING, MINDSET, ETC.)?
Kelly made the process very easy. There was not much styling I had to do on my own, and she gave me tips on how to look and feel my best for the shoot.
WHAT’S YOUR BEST MEMORY FROM HIGH SCHOOL?
It’s really hard to choose just one memory. However if I had to choose, I would say joining my school’s cheer team. I have made some of my fondest memories and closest connections with the girls on that team.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATION?
I plan to continue my education in diagnostic medical sonography.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHEN DO YOU SCHEDULE YOUR SHOOTS?
We will chat to find a day that works best for both of us. Generally, I shoot summer mornings and afternoons and fall weekday mornings. Professional hair and makeup styling starts at 7am in my downtown Plymouth studio.
HOW LONG DOES THE SHOOT LAST?
I usually tell clients to expect a 2-3 hour shoot depending on the locations we plan to cover.
WHERE WILL WE
SHOOT?
I have many great locations! A few of my favorites include downtown Plymouth, downtown Detroit, and in Ann Arbor I love the Law Quad, Kerrytown, and Nichols Arboretum.
WHO WILL BE AT MY SHOOT?
Usually a parent is present, but many times we will break away for a bit.
l’M NOT SURE ABOUT POSING ...WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE?
No worries! I’ll guide you through the entire shoot. Your job is to relax and have fun!
HOW SOON WILL I SEE MY PICTURES?
Between 2-4 weeks, depending on the time of season.
HOW CAN I PAY?
I accept credit cards, cash, and checks.
HOW CAN I BOOK?

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY SHOOT?
Depending on the time of the year, I tend to book out 6-8 weeks in advance. My booking calendar opens February 1 each year. If you have a particular timeframe you prefer, it’s strongly suggested to reserve your desired date early as I limit reservations for inclement weather.
