Block Party Protocol-Revision2008

Dear SI Fellows,

Here is the original version of the block party protocol from this week.

The revised version is listed below:

1. One index card per article

2. One quote per article on one index card (front) that pertains to your writing instruction pedagogy for next year (2008­09) that is meaningful or important to you.

3. On back of each index card­ any conversation points that you want to remember or introduce in the block party. The reader (articles) were not allowed to be brought with you to the block party.

4. Round 1­ Partners

5. Round 2 ­ Triads (May not include anyone from Round 1)

6. Round 3 ­ Quads (May not include anyone from Round 1 or Round 2)

7. Writing Time Period to synthesize your thoughts from all three rounds.

8. Whole Group Discussion

Timeline:

Set­up index cards: 10 minutes Round 1: 10 minutes Round 2: 15 minutes Round 3: 20 minutes Writing Time: 15 minutes Whole Group Discussion: 20 minutes
