Speedo Aqua fitness is a continual growing trend with an aging population. Speedo needed a product that would attract a younger market and elevate the brands image. Moving away from traditional materials I created the first patented products for Speedo USA with these workout tools. Responsible for the initial idea, product design, prototyping, 3d design and working with the factory in Asia for production 1. 1. Ankle resistance 2. Wrist resistance

Zura
Speedo
I was introduced to this project after a long list of designers had touched the project. The company was introduced to a new material and knew it was a match for their new fin. This would become the first EVA injection molded swim fin on the market. My job was to tick the boxes from a list of improvements and design around the new material. Styling cues developed from the materials need for structural integrity due to its soft nature.
The initial concept developed from a swim coach who screwed a blade perpendicular to a traditional swim fin to increase the resistance during the breaststroke. I was handed the project to take it to a new level in comfort, performance, and design. The final solution was the result of multiple prototypes and swim tests using a team of Speedo athletes.

Nike This product hinged on reducing drag by hundredths of a second. In calibration with Nike, Nike Europe and a team of specialist measuring drag an Olympic swim goggle was created. Built to be used by elite athletes, the goggles went through over 360 hrs of testing during various stages of development to create a drag free goggle. The final result was a swim goggle that reduced drag by a ten of a second over 100meters and was shown that it was better to wear this goggle than no goggle at all. BRICA The challenge in creating IP is in the ability to execute the idea. The concept uses existence capabilities within the company to enable short term results. The final design creates a link to the parent and child which eliminates social barriers from the common “leash” product.

Highball glass incorporates a silicone filter to stop ice from touching the users lips, allowing only liquid to exit the glass. This leads to an enhanced, sophisticated drinking experience.
Brand Building
The featured filter scales to multiple drinkware options: ice tea glass, tumbler, mug, goblet

In an oversaturated market, innovation is essential to gain recognition and customers. A patentable feature for this drink ware is a built in groove which holds a ridged filter. This feature is adaptable for multiple markets including, commercial and home, bringing value to drink ware that would otherwise be lost in the market. 87.80

3D Ceramic Printing
Warrior
With the advent of 3d printing, complex geometries in products are now possible. The amplifier is printed in one piece with a fine ceramic powder an binder to include a fixed cone to reflect sound 360 degrees.
Regulation requiring womens lacrosse players to wear protective eye wear was introduced and created a rush to market. This mask was developed to stand out, by using a polycarbonate lens as opposed to a traditional wire mesh, similar to the mens protective gear in the market.

Scotts This was the first project I was involved in with this company. Also, the first time I witnessed how a company’s passion for greatness propels them to be a market leader. This was a new product for Scotts and it need to make an impact for its introduction to retail. We developed over 30 prototypes for consumer testing during a year long process. The result was a product that exceeded all goals. Responsible for concept generation, model building, 3d modeling and rendering for presentation

Scotts Scotts needed to update the look and performance of their tried and true lawn feeder in the UK. They were starting to lose market share to new competitors in the market. Working in the US and researching the UK market to understand the consumer was a big step to create a successful product. With the launch of the product and eventual success, the design eventually made its way to the US market. Responsible for initial concepts, design and model building

Nike This project was a lesson on understanding the specific needs of a swimmer on the pool deck. Everything goes in the bag, from training equipment, a second change of clothes, damp suites, wet towels and tonight’s homework. It also doubles as a locker when changing on the pool deck. Listening and observation was the only way to create a successful design. The key development lesson I learned was the need to build a full scale model out of paper board. This technique was acquired, which reduced time to market in half, while visiting the factory in Asia. Responsible for research, initial concept, design, and product development

Nootca Packaging that is recyclable is not a challenge in the marketplace. Creating a product or package that is biodegradable should be the goal of a designer. This packaging uses only paper material to meet the goals of biodegradability. The second goal was added value for the consumer. Nootca A company I started from an idea to a fully integrated brand. This was built on the premise that a brand can stand on quality product alone and compete with the heavy hitters in the market. Beginning with three core products, this was a full lesson on brand building. Brand identity, packaging, copy writing and product design needed to be cohesive to build Nootca’s brand recognition.
