The Bryan Station was named for a frontier fort near present-day Lexington that was the site of a battle between Kentucky settlers and British-led forces in 1782 near the end of the Revolutionary War. The settlers’ successful defense of the fort is a chapter in Kentucky history. A historical marker and a monument commemorate the site.
