The Sycamore is named in honor of the tall, stately tree that stands at the edge of Keeneland’s Walking Ring. The race has been contested at 1 1/2 miles (2001-2010, 2012, 2014-present) and 1 5/8 miles (1995-2000, 2011, 2013).

Kevin Kyde presented the trophy to jockey Julien Leparoux and trainer Jason Barkley. Spooky Channel gave Barkley his first graded stakes win and first Keeneland stakes victory.

Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2)

The Thoroughbred Club of America is headquartered in Lexington. The race evolved from the TCA Dinner Purse, which was run as an allowance race each spring from 1941-1980, with the exception of 1945. The race became a stakes in 1981 and through 1985 was restricted to horses owned by TCA members. In 1995, the race was moved to the Fall Meet.
