This research was to produce a set of measured drawings based on the historical building assigned to a group of members. The New Media Performing Art Centre is located in Huddersfield. The main objective is to introduce new and innovative elements of performing arts as well as embracing more traditional performance practices for the students, local community and international communities in Huddersfield. It is needed to not just provide a space to perform arts but also to relax, encourage social engagement and arts education which will eventually enliven the town and beyond the town itself.

For lovers of the performing arts, the centre will become another choice among the many fine venues like the live performance bars/restaurants, town hall, Lawrence Batley Theatre and St. Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield.

It opens to the public, hosting various types of performing arts that include contemporary dance and music, touring and community performances, and performance space. It is funded by The University of Huddersfield and Arts Council England but associated with Musion 3D Limited to operate the building.

The building houses a theatre, a blackbox theatre, holographic editing studios, holographic production studios, cafe, rehearsal workshop, control room, offices, reception and lobby.The multi-purpose hall is designed to become suitable for new media such as hologram, dance, plays and musicals. Besides, spaces like recording and editing room, rehearsal rooms and offices are to support academic programs.

The aim is continuing extending the paths outside the town centre. Secondly, construct the venues to house all the festivals, events, expos, exhibitions, entertainements. and many more.

The live performance bars and restaurants are operating during the night but there is no clear guidance to the venues, as well as, what is the style or performing period of the performances.

- Year 2030 -

- Year 2025The aim is to connect the venues within the ring road by having the clear paths (PV paver and PV ultra-thin concrete ports) as a guidance.

SCHEME-Year2018-

The aim of expanding the town centre, “South-East Boulevard” is proposed as a multi-event space/ street that streched along to the beginning of “HD One” Leisure and linking the live performances, entertainments and arts to be completed in early 2030. By predicting the completion of HS2 by the middle of the year 2033 to draw more population to Huddersfield.

The proposal are completed to bring out the lively spirits of the expanded town centre in Huddersfield.

With the collaboration of “The Media Centre”, musicians/artists can simply rehearsals anytime. The open air music venues (current parking space, abandones gasworks) to host the musical and annual festivals (e.g. Huddersfield jass, carribean music), perhaps the art exhibitions, funfair, or even fashion show. The live performances are conducting in restaurants, bars, town hall, stadium, churches, theatre and concert hall in TheHuddersfield.purpleline shown as the route to connect all the venues vertically and horizontally. The proposed performing art centre is located at the edge of South within the trail to form as one of the new venue of live performing for the diversed community nationally and globally.

The Zetland Public House to be refurbished internally only as its “Grade ll Listed Building” title since 29th Sept 1978. The buildings that will be demolished are: “The Hippodrome”, “The Coach House”, and “Roxy Ball”. - REFURBISH & DEMOLISH -

- SITE CONTEXTIn the urban proposal, by year 2025, the roads surrounded the site will be pedestrianised. It will get rid of vehicular noise pollution and enhance the sound quality to the proposed performing art centre and the urban context. Part of the ring road cutting into town centre has been completely removed and now instead a barrier, it has become a line that links the main town centre to the university campus as well as the south of Huddersfield.

What if our cities were to take to the sea? To respond to these enormous global challenges, floating architecture on water would be emerging as a strong alternative. It will be resilient to any kind of disasters such as storm rain, floods, tsunami and so Theon. self-sustaining new city will provide a basis of living, food and energy in order to explore new ways of living - on water, not on firm land. The New Land

- The Future Neighbourhood of Hull -

The project aims to create a new city that floats on water which able to accommodate residents of Hull that affected by the +2oC sea level rise in the upcoming future. This project hopes to construct the public and residential spaces on the Humber River to create a new community hub for living and Thegathering.hexagonal modules can be interconnected to form a giant floating platform that contain mixed-use spaces. To make reliable and long-lasting building system, these modular units can be scaled down and relocated flexibly according to the ever-changing needs of users. These floating structures are equipped with fish farm, communal farms for fish, vegetation and corps, water harvesting and desalination systems, renewable energy (solar and wind power), markets and housings. Agriculture sites create a walkable landscape combining food production and leisure to enhance the social network of residents. There are floating paths and water transport that connecting the community within the mainland as well as the floating sites.

For today, climate change is a major threat on a global scale. Increasing temperatures across the world have caused sea levels to rise drastically. It has triggering vicious new storms that hammer coastal communities and drive mighty rivers rushing over their Withbanks.90% of Hull standing below the high-tide line, its devastating recent floods were a sign of things to come. In results, the usable land will be scarced.

Eventually, residents will have no land to survive.

44 This scheme shows the floating city are expanded not only offshore, but also onshore to enhance the connections between each others. These modular floating units can accommodate about 51,200 residents in the beginning stage and to increase accordingly. The existing houses have been demolished to replace with modular units. They are placed in fixed position, unlike the ones offshore which able to relocate as desired. The water filtration system highlighted in red is placed near to the existing tidal barrier to turn the river water or rainwater to drinking water that supplies to the residents of the new floating settlement.

Head of community is grouped to propose based on the requests of communities. “LAND” Due to limited land availability, housing units will ber rented out to residents based on the numbers of family members. For productions like agriculture and fishing, land will be rented out following the fixed rules.

To access the mainland, water transport is the only option. The transportation used to travel from one place to another place is by boats. The ships are to sail by the given shipping lane to have a hierarchy on types of circulation motions. Within the offshore settlements, people are to walk, bike or sailing as the distance from one place to another is fairly closed by.
