PEEK-THE-BOO SHOOT a play on Lynchian aesthetics

PERSONAL PHOTOSHOOT

Drawing on notions of VOYEURISM, NAIVETÉ and SUBVERSION, Peek-The-Boo captures a voyeur’s gaze into an intimate moment when a child sneacks into his/her parent’s bedroom and plays ‘DRESS-UP’. A play on the IDENTITY of the CHILD/ADULT and FEMALE/MALE is set forward through the choice of models: adult male, adult female and a child.

02.5 SCENOGRAPHY PROJECT

IFM STAND AT WHO’S NEXT design of IFM stand space at Who’s Next tradeshow of September 2015 showcasing the work of the accesory and garment designers at IFM through trends with Diego Diez & Quentin Fontaimpe

TWO DIRECTIONS 1 - SCAFFOLDING 2 - STRUCTURE

TRENDS CATEGORISATIONS & DESCRIPTIONS PRESENT FUTURISM

SCENOGRAPHY

Futurist tendencies towards form, geometry and textures that stem from a present urban condition and a present need for experimentation. An aesthetic inclination that goes beyond Sci-fi culture for a reality that is inspired by the fast-evolving technology.

HYBRID BLOCKS

The block as a unit for building a whole; but here the block is not your usual static form but a more fluid and hybrid expression. Rectangular shapes loosened up and transformed into a de-structured geometry, curvilinear in some cases and angular in others.

FLUID STRUCTURE

An organic architecture made of intertwined movement of materials. Balance is reached alternatively through a play of curves and folds. An architecture that favors Frank Gehry over Le Corbusier.

SHELTER SHIELD

Whether through second skin shelter simulation or through allegories of shielding and self-defense the theme of protection prevails; a primary need for safety.

COMPOSITE MATTER

Juxtaposing and merging techniques, materials and textures. A collage of binaries and different substances: rigid and fluid, fragile embroidery and resistant fabric, bold prints and subtle textures, movement and stillness.

NOMADOLOGY

An interpretative vision of the urban ‘sand wanderer’ and a nostalgic take on a modern day Lawrence of Arabia with drapery and tailoring, earthy tones and textures.
