Business News The first quarter of 2015 has blessed me with some wonderful projects. My thanks go out to the people involved with each of these projects for selecting my work.
Charleston Convention Center Purchases Large Print of My Rutledge House Photo Working through a large Atlanta art consulting firm, the Charleston Convention Center has acquired a large print of my photograph of Charleston’s historic Rutledge House. The Rutledge House, built in 1760, is a historic landmark in Charleston and once served as the home to Edward Rutledge, a former governor of South Carolina and signer of the Declaration of Independence..
Homewood Suites in Houma, Louisiana Acquires 12 Prints from New Orleans Portfolio Even though it didn’t happen in the first quarter, I wanted to be sure to mention that the Homewood Suites in Houma, Louisiana (near New Orleans), placed 12 of my New Orleans photographs into their new property in December. Many thanks to the New York-based consulting firm that brokered the deal. I love working with art consultants, and having my work displayed in the wide variety of properties that consulting firms can access. Thanks to partnerships with art consultants, my work has been purchased by hotels around the nation, several universities, and the offices of businesses as diverse as oil companies and high tech firms.

My Gateway Arch Photo Selected for Architecture Book by Cornell University Professors Many thanks to Professor Mark R. Cruvellier, Chair of the Department of Architecture at Cornell University, for selecting my St. Louis Gateway Arch photograph for publication in the book Model Perspectives on Structures and Architecture, authored/edited by Cruvellier, Bjørn N. Sandaker, and Luben Dimcheff. The book will be published by Routledge in 2016 and my photo will have a full-page. Awesome! See more photographs of the Gateway Arch and St. Louis in my Missouri portfolio. See previous books by Mark R. Cruvellier on Amazon here.
Look for My Interview in the May Issue of DeSoto Magazine Editor Karen Ott Mayer graciously invited me to be interviewed about my work for the May issue of DeSoto Magazine. The publication is a popular monthly that covers all things Southern, from it’s base in Mississippi, not far from Memphis.
New Work New Pennsylvania Portfolio This currently would be more accurately called the Philadelphia portfolio, because all of the photographs were made in Philly. But, I do have plans for future photo journeys into the state of Pennsylvania, and the portfolio will eventually expand to fit its name. http://www.keithdotson.com/photographs/pennsylvania/
New Work Charleston Portfolio Updated From time to time, I revisit the raw photographs from earlier shoots to see if I skipped or missed any gems when processing the original body of work. That’s exactly why I have just added new work to my original Charleston collection. A handful of shots that I really like somehow missed my eye on the previous pass, and have now been moved to their rightful place in the published portfolio. http://www.keithdotson. com/photographs/charleston/

New England Portfolio Updated My New England portfolio has been updated with new photographs from Salem, Massachusetts, and York, Maine. http://www.keithdotson.com/photographs/new-england/

Photographic Papers Compared: RC vs. Silver Gelatin For the art lover interested in buying contemporary photography, there’s a very wide gamut of processes, print types and materials available today. From modern revival of antique processes like tintypes, cyanotypes and salt prints, to traditional darkroom prints, and of course the latest digital inkjet technologies, there’s a rich and vibrant selection of photographic art for every taste. How does a collector know what they are actually getting, when they buy a fine art photograph — especially when buying online? I’ve made an illustrated comparison of the most common surfaces on my blog, with photographs of actual paper surfaces for your inspection. http://www.keithdotson.com/exactly-getting-buy-fine-artphotograph/
