02 - Woolloomooloo, Sydney, Australia. Sissons Architects were approached by the client to create a base package of drawings for an existing heritage listed building located in Woolloomooloo, Sydney. 108 HOSTEL ROOM 31m²
Originally built in 1892, the facade and interior are locally protected heritage assets. The property is currently used as the Elephant Backpacker Hostel. Previous uses include a Temperance Hotel and The Sydney Eye Hospital.

The project began by visiting the City of Sydney Heritage Archives and reviewing the historic plans paired with site visits to understand scale and detail of the building. Sissons Architects then modelled in Revit the existing building to a LOD 500 with the end goal to produce a 3D realistic model for renders and VR interaction with the client to explore future opportunities.

The client was initially looking for a feasibility study for a house on a site in Ireland which later developed into a concept design for a 4 bedroom house which is elegantly sits on the site. The clients brief outlined the requirement to maximum the sites solar gain and create a house adaptable with elderly living in the future. The proposed dwelling utilised the long site to create a FLOORlayout PLAN while positioning ‘two up two GROUND down’ house 1 1 : 50 the solar access plane. This gave the rooms along the living and kitchen area daylight from morning through to afternoon time and the bedrooms the evening sunlight.

04 - Phoenix House, Cork, Ireland. O’Shea Leader Consulting Engineers completed the fitout of Phoenix House for the client Regus. The client was striving to create an industry first of individual cellular offices leasing profile for Cork and capturing the market for small businesses requiring an office address without the large office space and expense. OSL were tasked with creating fully equip offices and communal spaces within an existing basebuild building (Phoenix House). Through extensive client briefing and design analysis OSL completed the fitout to a very high standard and to the satisfaction of the client and tenants. The offices were such a success the client expanded further within building and further works were undertaken in recent years.

05 - Waterford City Courthouse, Ireland. My final year project in my Architecture Course was to create a courthouse for Waterford city. This was an individual project ran over a semester with different deliverables to be presented at important stages of the project. The main tasks to be under taken was a site survey, building survey, concept design, detailed design and performance solutions for each element of the proposal. My design was to maintain and upgrade the existing courthouse which had fallen into disrepair while creating a new and improved courthouse adjacent and connected to the existing building. This L-shaped building would allow for a courtyard to be created and give a sense of arrival to the courthouse user. I worked with the OPW in Ireland to record the existing building and identify opportunities for the building maintenance and improvement in the future. Courthouse Render
