HIGHLIGHTS

1. In celebration of Chinese New Year, the 3rd graders made Chinese lanterns in art class on January 23rd.

2. On December 11th, 8th grader Carmen performed with the Young People’s Chorus of NYC on stage at the historic Lincoln Center!

3. Recently, St. Martin’s welcomed authors Gary ’88 and Grace Jansen to visit the Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classes for Author Day! They presented their book “Remember Us with Smiles,” which all students received a signed copy of to share with their families.

4. On December 9th, Mrs. Grasso’s 5th graders took a trip to the Bellmore Playhouse to watch the film adaptation of Wonder after completing their reading and character studies of the book.

5. The entire St. Martin’s family celebrated the Feast of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, founder of the Society of Mary, with a special Mass. During the Mass, they had the joyous opportunity to celebrate the First Holy Communion of 6th grader, Ivan!

6. St. Martin’s is incredibly grateful to Molloy University for their recent generous donation of games and puzzles!

7. The Lady Clippers Basketball Team turned in their best performance of the season yet against St. Edwards on January 10th. The girls have made and continue to make amazing progress this season!

8. In November, St. Martin’s celebrated their first academic bee of the school year with a Spelling Bee. Congratulations to all who participated, especially repeat champion, Valentina!

9. In January, Mrs. Good’s Kindergarten class celebrated Penguin Day! Students learned all about the adorable aquatic flightless birds and even got the chance to glide like them using scooters in the hallway.
