DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Kelley Kronenberg through its Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to support and uplift law students from diverse backgrounds. Kelley Kronenberg will be awarding $3,000 (“scholarship funds”) to a law school each year to provide as scholarship funds to an eligible incoming first year or second year law student who will also participate in Kelley Kronenberg’s paid summer internship program (“Program”). This Program is valued at approximately $11,000 . The following rules apply to the Program.

1. Kelley Kronenberg reserves the right to award the funds under the Program to any law school.

2. The law school that will be receiving the scholarship funds from Kelley Kronenberg must give the entire amount of the scholarship funds to an eligible law student after receiving an essay as part of the application that demonstrates how the law student applicant will become a better lawyer because of the law student applicant’s diverse background. An eligible law student for purposes of the Program shall be an individual who belongs to a diversity group and who submits the most intriguing and well written essay with the application for the Program that is approved by Kelley Kronenberg’s diversity committee and the law school. The selected law student must be eligible to participate in the paid summer internship program at Kelley Kronenberg in the summer between July to August after the receipt of the scholarship funds. The selected law student will be a first-year ir a second-year law student at the law school. A diversity group shall mean a member of a racial minority such as African American/Black, Hispanic, Asian, Indian/Native American, or any individual who identifies herself or himself as a person with disability, or belonging to a LGBTQ group.

3. The scholarship funds may be used by the law student to pay for tuition, lodging/boarding, books, stationary, or any other student related expenses for the law school. The law school must receive a written statement from the law student as to how the law student has used the scholarship funds and provide a copy of the same to Kelley Kronenberg.

4. Kelley Kronenberg reserves the right to deny paying the scholarship funds or seeking a refund of the scholarship funds from the law school or law student if the law school or law student does not comply with the terms of the Program.

5. Both the law school and selected law student must sign and provide a copy of the attached application to Kelley Kronenberg.

6. The selected law student will be interviewed by Kelley Kronenberg, and Kelley Kronenberg reserves the right to deny and not offer the summer internship employment to the selected law student.

7. This Program is not a contract between Kelley Kronenberg or the law school or the law student and any materials dealing with the Program will not be considered as an offer for employment to the law student. Kelley Kronenberg will send a separate written offer to the selected law student to confirm employment as a summer intern and such employment shall be deemed as employment at will, which may be terminated at anytime during or before the start of the summer internship at Kelley Kronenberg.
