Portfolio Kellie Allred

Hello! I am passionate about interior design, but more importantly the way interior design creates an experience for those within the space. A space that creates passion and fuels the soul is, I believe, truly the pinnacle of great design. , I am Currently a Senior at Rocky mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) ; working towards a Bachelor degree of sustainable interior design. Essentially, a holistic approach to interior design caring for everything inside and out. As we move forward through the advancements of technology, we can see the importance of caring for what we have as a global community. This extends to the buildings and designs we create; they not only need to be beautiful, but they need to function with the environment, and have a timeless aesthetic.

Hospitality The Beck Hotel

Overview The Abandoned Neuhoff meat packing plant is getting a new lease on life. After being empty for nearly 40 years it will be Converted into a hotel, market, and cultural hub. The hotel will be housed between all floors of the existing structure. However, the building will Share the first floor with events, foodie stops, stores, and an art gallery. IT IS CONSIDERED A HISTORIC PART OF THIS NASHVILLE SUBURB AND IT IS IMPORTANT FOR SOME OF THE HISTORY TO REMAIN, AS SUCH, THE DESIGN IS INSPIRED BY THE BUILDINGS HISTORY, as well as ITS CURRENT overgrown state. It is therefore, going to be home to an awe inspiring amount of draping foliage, blended with industrial design.

Photo Credit : 1 • 2 Anthony Jones Photo Credit: Nashville Public Records Library The upper images are the building current state; as you see the natural vegetation as grown as it pleased and the building has a beautiful Industrial southern character. The Lower image is from the public records office in Nashville. It shows the building during its thriving economic years, however it would be closed during the 70’s never to be reopened, until now.
