IMPORTANT INFO
INSURANCE
Advertisement
For international travel, all travellers will be required to be fully insured. We do not offer travel insurance so you will need to book this yourself. Be careful to read the small print regarding Covid policy and pre-existing conditions. Insurance policies are not created equal!
Please also be aware that we recommend you take out your travel insurance policy before making your final payment. Refunds are not available after final payment unless we are unable to proceed with the trip. See Covid conditions later on this page.
MEDICAL AND MOBILITY
If you have any doubts about your medical ability to travel with us, please consult your doctor.
While we plan all our trips to be senior friendly a certain level of mobility and health is required to travel with Operatunity. On each brochure there is a mobility clause on the back page. This gives you an idea of how mobile you need to be to travel. Many of our local trips are very easy. However, our trips to Europe do require a higher level of fitness as we enjoy visiting museums, walking tours, castles, cobblestones, small towns, long flights and generally do keep going to ensure we experience as much as we can. To give you an idea you need to be able to climb a couple of flights of stairs at one time with relative ease and walk up to an hour, be it a slow pace with stops.
COVID POLICY
While we are constantly reviewing this, at the time of printing this newsletter, Operatunity’s travel policy continues to be for vaccinated only.
While Covid continues to be a notifiable disease and is deemed so by the World Health Organisation this seems the best policy. In many countries you are unable to travel unless you can prove you are fully vaccinated.
Please note: For NZ travel, we will make an exception to those who can provide us with a medical vaccine exemption letter signed by your own G.P. Those travellers will be required to get a supervised Rapid Antigen Test before travel. This does not apply to international travel as, in the event of an outbreak, countries’ policies can change very quickly.
All other travellers will be required to take your own at home Rapid Antigen Test before coming on tour 24 hours prior to travel, and all need to notify the office that you have done so and your test is negative.
We encourage you to bring your own R.A.T tests with you on tour. If you do exhibit any symptoms you will be required to take a R.A.T before continuing with the tour and isolating until you have done so.
Please note as you will understand these policies are constantly changing and being reviewed. These are the mandates set in place at present for care homes and retirement village so we are following the lead from these government requirements.
