Enzo Explains How to Build a Brand A brand is not a name or a logo. A brand is a compilation of thoughts, feelings and ideas about a service or organization that end up influencing our behaviors. A brand is created by your consistent experience with that service or organization. A brand is about what is promised and the delivery of that promise. Special Thanks to Brand Ambassador Angeline Avelenda, her son Enzo and the rest of the family for sharing their story
Age 3 I was running in my house and cut open my eyebrow on the corner of a brick fireplace. My parents rushed me to the Shea emergency room. They immediately took us to a room. There was another little boy with his parents. He was my exact same age and had my exact same wound. We got stitches together. Our parents comforted us, and comforted each other. The nurses and doctors were very nice. They gave me and the other little boy a brand new teddy bear to take home.
I still have a scar. It’s for the ladies.
My Baby Sister
My little sister, Eden, was born at Shea hospital. Everyone took really good care of her and my mom. The nurses were caring and engaged. My mom says this was the best birthing experience she could have imagined. I wish I had been born there, too!
Age 9
Then there was that day when THIS turned into ‌
Age 9 THIS. It hurt a lot, but I was pretty tough about it. I didn’t cry at all. OK, I cried a lot. But that’s between us. The doctors took great care of me and cheered me up. I got to wear an awesome sling. That was also for the ladies.
My Dad There was that one day that my dad, Carlos, fell off his bike and had to get his elbow stitched up in the Shea emergency room. And then there was that time he and my mom decided he didn’t need to have any more kids.
Our Pediatrician My sister and I really like our pediatrician, who is a partner. She talks directly to us and makes us feel very comfortable and welcome. We are very brave when we get our shots.
My Mom Not too long ago, my mom, Angeline, decided to work at a primary care practice connected to the hospitals. She said the decision was easy. She already knew it was an organization that does a great job in serving our community.
She feels proud to be a part of an organization that does so much good.
So, I don’t know what a brand is. (My mom is a brand ambassador, and she wrote that part.)
But I do know how we are treated every time we visit. It makes us want to come back.
