I am a minimalist architect and industrial designer with a passion for creating innovative designs on both large and small scales. I aim to bring a new perspective to the world by embodying Dieter Rams’ principle of “less, but better” in my work. rough minimal structures, I strive to maximize functionality while also infusing each design with its own unique beauty. My goal is to simplify daily life by incorporating the concept of minimalist design into my practice. I am seeking an design internship to gain practical experience and further my understanding of how I can inspire the world through design.

“less, but better”
“good design is as little design as possible”
-Dieter Rams
Lamps serve as a source of illumination in a room, but Cast-A-Lamp offers minimal brightness for those who are sensitive to light.
Cast-A-Shadow is an initiative focused on revamping “bad” designs and making them functional. A “bad” design is defined as an object that fails to fulfill its intended purpose, such as a spoon with a hole or a sharpedged chair.
I chose to create a “bad” lamp aimed at individuals who are sensitive to light. Drawing from my own experience with light sensitivity caused by migraines, I designed the lamp to avoid discomfort to the eyes.
The Cast-A-Shadow project was inspired by the Korean lantern “Cheongsa Chorong”, a red and blue cloth lantern used in weddings since the 1700s as a congratulatory gesture from friends and family. This lantern emits only a very faint light.
On-the-Go toilets are located in the center of Jackson Park and provide convenient access for people in the surrounding area.
The On-the-Go project was aimed at designing a public restroom that fits the context of Jackson Park in Chicago, Illinois. The toilet is intended for pedestrians in Jackson Park and provides private and convenient access to restrooms at any time. The challenge of this project was to incorporate geometric shapes, colors, and functionality into the design.
The design of the public restroom in Jackson Park was informed by its proximity to landmarks, sidewalks, roads, and public transportation, as well as its rich tree and animal life. The goal was to create restrooms that are accessible and environmentally friendly.
The On-the-Go toilet is a compact unit that integrates all essential functions in one convenient location.
Union Hall is a gathering place for employees who unite to discuss shared goals related to various aspects of employment.
My vision for the design was to create a spacious and serene architecture that would bring a sense of calm and tranquility to people’s hectic daily lives. I aim to provide an escape from the hustle and bustle of the world and offer the opportunity to immerse oneself in a peaceful environment.
The Union Hall is situated on an 8,960 sq. ft. site facing W Randolph St, with dimensions of 140 ft. by 64 ft. Most of the available space, totaling 7,616 sq. ft., has been utilized to maximize the capacity of the Union Hall for workers. The location provides convenient access with minimal traffic and is within 400 meters of public transportation.
The exterior and interior of the Union Hall are constructed with concrete to effectively absorb sound from the outside environment, promoting concentration and minimizing distractions for workers during their conversations.
Despite the concrete material and spacious design giving a cold and sterile impression, the intricate details and accents provide workers with a sense of warmth and comfort. The seemingly contrasting elements of the Union Hall work together to create a tranquil environment that serves as a peaceful refuge from the busy life.
Re-Design Shampoo Bottles
The redesign of a shampoo bottle aims to allow for easier dispensing of the product using only one hand.
Problem :
I redesigned a shampoo bottle to prevent shower caddies from falling over due to pressure from traditional bottle designs. My design eliminates caddy pressure, provides secure storing options, and dispenses the right amount of product without compromising caddy stability.
I adapted the soap dispensing concept of the MyKirei hand wash to a shampoo bottle, allowing users to directly press onto their hair without pumping it onto their hands.
BEDY provides a convenient and hygienic source of hydration for users who are in need of a drink during nighttime.
People often feel thirsty during the night and want to drink water, but getting up to do so can be exhausting. Drinking from a traditional cup in bed can also result in spills, causing a messy and inconvenient situation.
Inspirtion :
BEDY is a water bottle that combines the features of a canteen, mug, and sippy cup. Its distinct design, reminiscent of a canteen, and sippy cup straw make it convenient for drinking in any position. With a capacity of 8 ounces (1 cup) of liquid, BEDY is compact and ideal for placement on a bedside table.
Rubber Straw
Soft Rubber : serves as a coaster
Materials were selected to facilitate an effortless and clean drinking experience while in bed.
Soft Rubber: enables squeezing of water as needed
Transparent Plastic: allows for easy visualization of remaining water level
