1st Annual Niles Pumpkin Race Presented by Niles Noon Optimist Club Race your Pumpkin down Sycamore hill to victory! Saturday, October 27th Race Begins Promptly at Noon www.nilespumpkinrace.com Never before seen in the city of Niles, the Great Pumpkin Race will begin it's first heat with the pumpkins lined up and taking off down the notorious Sycamore Street Hill with one goal in mind‌to win it all! Be a part of the action at the Niles Pumpkin Race!

What is a pumpkin race? It’s simple. Take a pumpkin, decorate it and insert 2 independent axles through the pumpkin, and attach wheels. Put on a costume to match your pumpkin, display your pumpkin in the pumpkin pit, and keep your eye open for the cheater pumpkins. Most of all have fun!

Two ways to play! Classic: Decide to go the easier softer way! Pick up a kit with axle wheels and a pumpkin at the Bell building in Niles- located at Sycamore and 4th street on Friday October 26th or Saturday October 27th before 11:30 AM. Cost: 1st kit $20 2nd kit $35 $10 each after the 1st two kits Includes entry fee Free Style: You prefer to go your own way and design the ultimate pumpkin racer. Let your own creative style go wild-just follow a few simple rules or risk the Mallet of Destruction! Cost: $10 Includes entry fee The Pumpkin Racer Pledge

I promise to always do my very best and play by the rules because Cheater Pumpkins never prosper.

Pumpkin Race Rules

1.Craft your pumpkin race car using a single pumpkin 2.Insert a minimum of two independent axles through your pumpkin and attach the wheels to the axle. 3.The axles must go through the wheels. 4.No castor wheels.
