RED BULLWEEKLY MASTHEAD DESIGN | PUBLICATION DESIGN The Red BullWeekly is an international active style magazine that thrives on an unrivaled world of action, events, inspirational people, and breathtaking stories from Red Bull’s global playground. It highlights those who don’t play by the rules, those who push the limits and those who have a strong passion for adventure. This hypothetical magazine comes from Red Bull’s, The Red Bulletin. It contains a creative new masthead, a content page, and two alternative featured articles. I wanted it’s design to look clean and professional, yet mimic Red Bull’s passion for pushing the limits and breaking the rules.

These tools are made with wood from reclaimed trees, promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Organic Knead’s mission is to respect the limits of earth by offering tools that impact the world in a positive and eco-friendly way. This imagined company hopes to inspire and involve consumers to become involved and passionate about eco-friendly product use. This identity includes a new logo, product design and packaging, promotional ads, a product brochure and point-of-purchase posters.

#BESTSPOTSINOGDEN LOGO DESIGN | RESEARCH DESIGN | INTERACTIVE PDF #BESTSPOTSINOGDEN was a research study conducted to investigate the connection in Ogden’s community. A hashtag was created to reflect on the best spots participants found throughout the city. This study is a reminder that we are all significantly connected to this city and it’s “best spots.” This interactive PDF was designed with the Instagram users in mind. Viewers are welcome to interact with the PDF as if it were displayed on Instagram, by being able to finger over the small photos and watch them come to life on the big screen of the Iphone.

#PURPOSE

#BACKGROUND 3h Found inside the Instagram app, the #hashtag is one of the most powerful tools around. Hashtags instantly link individual posts to a group of posts about the same topic. This research study will investigate the outcome of the use of the common hashtag #bestspotsinogden. The idea is to get Instagram users to post photos of where they think the best spots in Ogden are.

#hashtagbasics Use the #hashtag symbol (#) before a relevant keyword or phrase to categorize photos and help them easily show up in an Instagram search.

#Hashtags can occur ANYWHERE in the caption portion of an Instagram post – at the beginning, middle or end.

Choose a #hashtag that is easy and catchy; complicated #hashtags often don’t work as intended.

The purpose of this research study is to find the BEST SPOTS IN OGDEN, as seen through pictures posted to Instagram. This research study will involve any Instagram user that is willing to participate in the study by posting photos of what they think are the best spots in Ogden and then tagging those photos with the hashtag #bestspotsinogden. This hashtag can signify restaurants, stores, trails, etc. The hashtag is narrowed down enough to get similar responses but is also open enough to allow for a number of different responses and locations.

#METHOD

#METHOD 5h The Instagram app will be the main tool used for this study, as well as the hashtag that has been chosen. By the end of this study, there should be enough responses to map out these photos. This will be done by using the Instagram photos found under the common hashtag #bestspotsinogden to group together multiples of the same response.

The data collected will be all of the photos taken that have been hashtagged as the #bestspotsinogden. Data may be presented from the user via cell phone (using the app) or computer (using the website).

#instafacts 64% of Instagramers are women, 36% men. 73% of Instagramers are between 15 and 35 years old.

On Instagram 53% of posts have at least one hashtag. 20% have more than 6 hashtags.

76% of Instagramers declare that receiving likes encourages them to publish more.

#METHOD Promotional Instagram posts were created and displayed on various Instagram user accounts promoting users to use the hashtag #bestspotsinogden. A few of Ogden’s most popular Instagramers were asked to post some of these promotional ads asking their followers to use the common hashtag. Small cards were also handed out in various places, left on bulletin boards, as well as left on car windshields promoting the same thing.

FINDINGS:

#FINDINGS 7h This research study is based off of the 99 total posts under the common hashtag: #bestspotsinogden as of the day the research concluded. Each individual post has been included in the final results. Within the 99 posts, there were 25 different locations that were tagged as the #bestspotsinogden. Out of the 25 locations, theTOP 5 best spots in Ogden will be highlighted. You can see how many times we found each location posted as the best spot in Ogden by the number of displayed.

This project highlights three Red Bull ski events, with newly designed event logos and event posters. In addition, Red Bull’s All Snow App, allows fans and viewers to become quickly informed of current and upcoming events occurring in the ski world of Red Bull. Each application was designed to mimic the fun, freestyle aspect in each of Red Bull’s ski events.

BLUE BEARD BREWERY LOGO DESIGN | BRANDING | WEB DESIGN Blue Beard Brewery is a locally-owned business in Ogden, Utah with a strong passion and enthusiasm for creating great brews. They have a unique style and vibe that makes this local brewery the best in town. Their focus is to create an atmosphere that reflects the active lifestyle of all the Ogden locals. The logo was designed to mimic the homemade quality of the brewery within it’s locality and it’s home crafted brews. An infinite scroll website was created in hopes to make this brewery the most accessible to those in search for a great local brewery. The main goal is to create a local feeling environment for the people of Ogden and it’s visitors, while creating unique and delicious brews.

ADVENTURE STARTS HERE WEB DESIGN | PUBLICATION DESIGN | TRAVEL PROMOTION Explore Ogden is a travel agency found in the adventurous city of Ogden, Utah. This agency strives to immerse it’s city and it’s visitors into the amazing atmosphere of the Ogden area by providing guided excursion packages, equipped with local guides. This design highlights one of the many adventures provided by Explore Ogden, specifically the agency’s deal of the week. An easy, step-by-step website was created to make the process of booking easy for anyone. In addition to three days of fun filled adventure, free merchandise and an excursion guide were designed, allowing participants to learn more about the adventures in store for them while they’re in Ogden, as well as local places they can dine.

MISCELLANEOUS POSTERS EVENTS | INFOGRAPHICS | ILLUSTRATIONS These posters include ones created for events, infographic posters and illustrative posters. Each was designed to appeal to the viewer and engage in exploring what the poster is all about. Each poster should give the viewer an idea of what the event or infographic is all about. Concept, process and research played a crucial role in the creation of each of them.. The goal for each one was to create a relationship with the event and the concept.
