1. BOLON MANGEBANG
Exhibition space / 4th place Arrival 3.0 Competition / Location : Tomok, Lake Toba, North Sumatera / Year : 2022 / Team : (-)
Bolon Mangebang is an attempt to re-intepret traditional Bolon house to be humbly merged into its majestic landscape. It serves as a multi-purpose exhibition space which is adaptable forvarious functions. Its main function is to conserve and promote the original value of Batak handicrafts as well as to celebrate the nature ofToba.
01
Apart from having a stunning nature, Batak tribe in thevillage ofTomok is also known fortheir unique, authentic, and high quality handicraft products including kain Ulos, songket Sipirok, and ukiran Gorga. Unfortunately, these handicrafts gradualy loses its true values in the origi nal manual process as people start to mass produce these handicrafts for economic purposes. Therefore, an exhibition space which can conserve these values is considered necessary. This building raises two local aspects which are traditional Bolon house and lake Toba.
Bolon House - Bolon house is a traditional house from Batak which is known for its elevated level and its saddle like roof with Gorga decoration on the front.
Lake Toba - While lake Toba, which is not only a majestic nature, has already become an inseperable part of Batak tribes. It plays a major role in their traditions, philosophy, history, and livelihoods.

Site Location
Tomok Village, Samosir
With the existence of Batak souvenir center at Tomok market, Tomok village is one of the villages with the highest potential to further develop Batak handicrafts within the Toba area. This village also has many cultural attractions as well as strategic spots to enjoy the nature of lake Toba. The specific site location is located strategically with close access to Tomok market and other tourist attractions - but still very natural and highly exposed to lake Toba on the other hand.

Sunken and Reversed
The traditional Bolon house is re-intepreted in attempt to make it humbly merged into the nature of Toba by ‘sinking’ the main building - leaving solely the monumental roof on top against the nature of Toba.
By doing so, the activity concentration is then reversedinstead of going up like the original Bolon house, the visitors will go down to enter the main building, while the top part serves as an inclusive open space.
Framing Toba Nature
This adapted Bolon roof removes the decorative elements which covers the front and the back of the roof - while the original form of the roof is still maintained. In exchange, the Gorga symbols in this building will serve as functional archi tectural elements in the entire building. (picture 2)
Its main purpose is to ‘frame’ the nature of Toba behind instead of blocking it, so that it can be clearly seen from the front. (picture 3)
Akses Masuk (Skenario pertunjukan)
In addition, with the removal of decorative elements that covers the front and the back of the roof, this will allow the hidden qualities of Bolon roof to be revealed by exposing the interior of the roof that resembles a saddle. (picture 2)

Local Community Celebration
With the unique adaptation of the Bolon house which leaves only the roof to be solely standing and framing the nature of Toba - this makes the front area iconic and repre sentative to the local pride (Bolon roof and Lake Toba). Therefore, the entrance can be used for various local cele brations and performances, ranging from traditional dances to fashion shows. (picture 3)

Multifaith Prayer Facility / Architectural Design Course 2 - PPAr - Universitas Indonesia / Location : Cikini, Jakarta / Year : 2022 / Team : (-)
‘Gama Sembahyang’ which means ‘Praying Journey’ in Sanskrit, is a re-defined multi-faith prayer facility which is aimed to emphasize on the ‘journey’ experience in praying through its spatial quality, as well as to raise both transcendental and immanental aspects in praying to enrich the notion of praying.
It is for individual prayer purposes only - thus eliminating ceremonial/communal purposes (Friday prayer, lord’s prayer, etc) and religious symbolism/objects (statue, idol, etc.) in orderto avoid any tendency towards certain religions or groups.
11Gama Sembahyang
In response to Cikini’s proposed program as ‘Sponge City’ and Indonesia’s urgencytowards religious diversity,This building provides a universal prayer facility which is not bound to any religion nor belief in order to promote inclusivity and diversitywithin the society.
The site is located at the junction between community hub, plaza, shopping area, and residential area in a proposed masterplan of Cikini development. With elevated pedestrian and district’s program to reduce cars, this location is projected to be highly circulated for informal uses.

Program
The essence of praying practices in various religions are essentialy similar in some ways. Generally, praying is not only a transcendental practice addressed to God, but praying is also broadly immanent to the worldliness and social practices. Both transcendence and immancence are essential in praying and relevant to any religious belief. Therefore, these two aspects then realized into four main spaces with particular functions.

Praying Journey
As the visitors head towards the main destination (main praying area) for transcendental prayers, the visitors will have to walk first on a prolonged journey through different physical realms with worldly and social attributes which gradually fades into a transcendental spiritual realm. It is aimed to create a poetic spiritual narration of praying, where praying is seen not only as a transcendental practice, but also as a practice which is broadly immanent to the worldliness and social practices - thus enriching the notion

Public Space / Top 10 Anvaara Competition 2022 / Location : Jakarta / Year : 2022 / Team : Dimas Rafidhiya, Tasyarin Hasna
"Tyres Mound" is a public space with a 'zero waste' concept that specifically responds to the increasing number of waste tyres in Indonesia.
Piles of waste tyres are organically arranged to provide a medium for the nature to grow on these piles of waste tyres. This aims to create an organic ‘jungle’ within the city for recreational purposes as well as spreading a clear message that these waste tyres, which during its active period played a major role in polluting the nature, are now ‘reclaimed’ by the nature. Hence, implying where our future is heading.

Automotive waste has been a major issue around the world, including tyre waste and bus waste as it takes a huge amount of space and difficult to decompose. Howeever, waste tyres are particularly worying as the number of waste tyres keeps increasing and harmful to the environment. Irresponsible treatments such as burning causes even more pollution to the environment. As the number reaches up to 11 million tons per year in Indonesia alone, there is an urgency to take actions and deliver a clear message to the society.
