powered exoskeleton suit
Each year, an estimated 15,500 high-rise structure fires cause 60 civilian deaths, 930 injuries, and $252 million in property loss (NFINFIRS, 2002).
The reason why high rise fire become a big challenge to fire departments is high-rise buildings can hold thousands of people well above the reach of fire department aerial devices, once the fire is above the operational reach of aerial ladder or elevating platforms the chance of rescuing victims is near zero. There are two main risks. Firstly is the lead time. The level where the fire occurs has the greatest impact on lead time, especially when elevators are not available. On average, it took 28 minutes and 52 seconds to reach the top floor of a 48story building. This does not include time needed to connect to the standpipe, place SCBA in service and advance on the fire. Secondly is the safety of firefighters. The risk to firefighters increase in proportion to the height of the building and the height above grade level. Once the fighters are operating above the reach of aerial devices, the only viable means of egress is the interior stairs. Therefore, the heart attack from the stressful environment and heavy gear become the primary cause of death among firefighters. In addition, the mobility inside the building or stairways can be different too. My research is looking at assistant equipment with new technology applying carrying capacity and personal mobility to achieve an effective fire fighting in the future 2025.
The A.F.A is a powered exoskeleton suit to increases firefighters’ performance in walking ,running and carrying while high-rise fire firefighting. A.F.A can carry loads up to 91kg. The exo-suit is strapped over the firefighters’ clothing. The device transfers its weight, load directly to the ground, so firefighters don’t bear the weight.

PACK FRAME
The CCATS is stand for “CENTER CONNECT AND TWIST SYSTEM, it connects the upper body and lower body, transfer the weight and move the waist by hydraulic cylinders.
The multifunction Pack frame was design to load fire gear such as hose line, rescue kit and any other modules. Two flash light on each shoulder. Moreover, the pack frame assembled lithium-polumer batteries. LiPo batteies are composed of several identical secondary cells in parallel to increase the discharge current capability,

m.U.C’-maglev Urban Commuter, a tandem 1+1 electric concept commuter for metropolitan areas will be a glimpse forward into the future. The two-wheeler design will solve the mounting problems of urban car transportation. ‘m.U.C’ is propelled by maglev motors in each of wheels as well as dynamic stabilization technology empowers in it. In addition, ‘m.U.C’ is supported to operate autonomously or under manual control. It has the potential to leading a trendsetter for a new way of mobility. As a ‘pod’ where people can relax and enjoy an alternative driving experience, the new vehicle is also presented with a futuristic outlook which fits in the hi-tech future.

The urban environment is continuously expanding. By 2030, the population of the urban areas would increase to 8.1 billion(60% of the world population). As the future mega cities become highly dense and more complex, the transportation system of the urban area requires high efficiency . The growing demand of mobility from large city population leads to two urgent problems: the shortage of fossil fuels and limitation of urban space. In the near future, intelligent, efficient and lightweight vehicles will be under the spotlight. This project aims to develop a futuristic inner city vehicle which is not only efficient, but also capable of creating a harmonious and intelligent link between the people and the traffic.

R² is a high technology and user-friendly car. It can record user’s preference and driving style. User don’t need use key to enter, just touch the sensor and the doors will open automatically, then the windows will become clear and the interior will lights on. The swivelling seat will moves back and revolves to user. R² doesn’t have rear-view mirrors. User can see everything around the car through the three exterior cameras; therefore user does not need to take their eyes off the road. The engine will turns on when user tough the central screen. User also can set temperature by mobile phone. If the accident happens, R² will stop automatically. In addition, user can move dashboard and control from either the left or the right seat. In order to fit different road rules and also provide user different driving experiences.

AIR ENGINE The Di Pietro motor concept is based on a rotary piston. Different from existing rotary engines, the Di Pietro motor uses a simple cylindrical rotary piston (shaft driver) which rolls, without any friction, inside the cylindrical stator. The space between stator and shaft driver is divided in 6 expansion chambers by pivoting dividers. (Joomla, 2010) 28

The Expressive Interface
Actity Diagram Sleep inherent ffwd,
CONTEXT Our relationships online and in real life are shifting as we become more public with our private lives. Online chatting software becomes an important part in our social networking. (e.g.: Facebook, iChat, msn).online chatting gets people closer and bring a big convenience to our living style, but it also comes up one problem that is words is hard to express your emotions and It could make some mistaking meanings and make people angry, even the others don’t know and hit you deeper. According to the research by Dr. Ray Birdwhistelle, emotion expressions include two parts, 65% nonverbal expression and 35% language expression. It is thus clear obvious that importance of physical emotions in chatting. Therefore in this project I design an interaction device using physical emotions to support online chatting. Context of use: When the users feel angry during online chatting, they can use this device to show their emotion on the others’ screen. Warning the others; a little punishment to the others and release users themself. Nature of the users: like online chatting; not good at expressing emotions with text; need release their emotions

“A.S.S.” (Angry Sponge Sustention) is designed as one ellipsoid with finger grooves; the finger grooves and ellipsoid form offer information that users can hold it (Inherentfeedforward). Because of the device made of rubber foam, users will know it can be squeezed from their general knowledge and touch (Inherent feedback). There is a switch on the device(Inherentfeedforward). When user trun on the swich, they will hear and feel a click and release the button (Inherent feedback) . When the users squeezing it, they will feel elasticity (resistance) of it (Inherent feedback).with the users increase their force, they will feel a piece of wood inside and stop squeezing (Inherent feedback), and it is the amount of force that is possible (Inherent feedforward). When users use this device punched the table, they will feel resistance from that rubber foam (Inherent feedback).

The augmented and functional information in the system When the users press the button to turn on this system, one red LED inside the decvice will lights up (Augmented Feedback) and a small black circular comes out from white background on screen with sound (Functional Feedback). with the users increase their force, the digital circular on screen will become more and more bigger, sound tends higher, fill color tends red to white and background change to red(Functional Feedback). There are 4 different symbols on the finger grooves to divide different functions (Augmented Feedforward).Users will stop action until they touch and feel a piece of wood inside, then all the variables will maintain their status. And then, all the variables will go back with users releasing their force. IN addition, there is a symbol on the pad shows users it can be punched(Augmented Feedforward). When users punched it, the digital circular will exploding and break up two new circulars(Functional Feedback).
