Your Choice School for Success
Our school philosophy is that “Everyone can be developed into a fine citizen with a passion for learning”. Based on our school values of “I EXCEL – Integrity, Excellence, Compassion, Enterprise, Loyalty”, we create and provide opportunities for students to develop and excel in the cognitive, physical, social, moral and aesthetic domains. We aim to provide a quality education and school experience for all our students in a learner-centred environment – learning-centred with a strong emphasis on positive school tone and discipline to learn, and child-centred with equal emphasis on all areas of personal growth in a safe and caring environment. In alignment with the MOE’s framework for 21st Century education, our school goals are to nurture every student to be a confident person with sound moral values and strong character; a discerning, independent and selfdirected learner; an innovative, active contributor; and a concerned citizen, rooted in family, community and nation. Hence we have set out our school mission to be “Enriching Minds, Unleashing Potential, Impacting Lives”. Correspondingly, our aspiration and school vision is “Every Individual a Thinker, an Achiever, a Global Citizen”. Enriching Minds – To achieve our vision of Every Individual a Thinker, we aim to provide a holistic and challenging curriculum that develops a thinking mind and 21st Century competencies in our students. Our students can look forward to an enriching and fulfilling learning experience that will stretch their mind and ability and instill a passion for life-long learning. Unleashing Potential – To achieve our vision of Every Individual an Achiever, we help our students realise their full potential and achieve peaks of excellence. Our students have ample opportunities to pursue their interests and talent through a range of varied and challenging CCAs and co-curricular programme, and exposure to external events and competitions. We support every individual talent and celebrate everyone's success and achievements.

We cultivate an ethos of care and respect in the school community, and nurture confident students of good character through a host of character building, care and emotional/learning support programmes. We develop our students to be responsible and active citizens with a global outlook and yet rooted in Singapore.

We guide and encourage our students to achieve success in school and beyond. Our teachers are caring and dedicated to nurturing the whole child through a strong teacher-student relationship. Our school motto of “Efforts Today, Rewards Tomorrow” has served us well since the school was founded in 1978 and has spurred many a Yuan Ching student to strive for excellence and achieve success beyond expectations. Our success stories has resulted in the school becoming more popular over the past 5 years. The number of Primary 6 pupils choosing our school as their first choice as well as the cut-off and mean PSLE T-score of Sec 1 cohort has steadily increased since 2006. The logo of our official opening of new campus consists of a frame from which emerges a globe circumscribed by three words – Recollect (the past), Reaffirm (the present), Reinvent (the future). The frame represents the collective knowledge and experiences gained over three decades of educating successive cohorts of students in the past. The multi-coloured hues of the student symbolise the making of an all-round individual – a Thinker, an Achiever and a Global Citizen in the present. The globe and the futuristic typeface in graduated colours of orange circumscribing it express the evolving roles and growth of the school in the future.
We will strive to nurture every individual as: A discerning, self-directed, independent learner, An active, innovative contributor, An individual with confidence, moral integrity, compassion and resilience Rooted in family, community and nation.
